Probably not; but I don't think it is inherently sexist in context anyway.

A Tory MP literally told an SNP MP to go home yesterday which was clearly caught by mics and the entire country is supposed to be in uprage because the Tories are suggesting Corbyn said either ‘stupid women’ or ‘stupid people’ under his breath?

    * off. You racist, scumbag, silver spoon fed, self entitled, evil, twisted *.

I can clearly see him saying 'people', it looks incredibly obvious to me.

But the media are finding him guilty of saying 'woman' and spinning it as misogyny. I wonder why...

If she is stupid and a woman then yes she's a stupid woman, don't see anything remotely sexist about it.

    Just watched.....absolutely not.

You can clearly see his mouth says something with a "P" in it.
It shows how much they are * it when they have to latch on to this.

Even if he did say "stupid woman " , how is that even sexist?

There's something very important here that is being totally overlooked: the Tories tried to draw parallels with anti-semitism and I imagine others will try to compare it with other forms of racism; but in fact "stupid woman" is a perfectly normal thing to say. English is structured that way.

To see this, let's take a non-adversarial context: which of these comments seem normal to you?

    1) There's a man here to see you.
    2) There's a woman here to see you.
    3) there's a Jew here to see you.

I don't even need to ask. The way English is structured makes it very, very normal to refer to the gender of people in a way that it doesn't with ethnicity. Indeed when it comes to pronouns (he/she) and titles (Mr, Mrs, Ms, etc), it is almost obligatory to do so.

The proof of this is that it is equally normal to refer to someone as a "stupid man" (and I'd bet money that Theresa May has done so at some point). In contrast, the kind of racist that woud say "stupid Jew" or "stupid P***" would not say "stupid white person".

I would call her a stupid woman and I would call Cameron a stupid man.

It don't matter what he said, if he did say it , he's only stating fact whether people like it or not

What's telling is their faux outrage over it, when only yesterday you had Soames audibly shout at Ian Blackford to go back to Skye. The double standards are just so tiresome now, pretty sure there has been other recent examples of stuff being picked up on the mics yet nothing, l just can't anymore.

Well said! Couldn’t believe the Corbyn story was the main one on the bbc (you’d think we’d have bigger issues, no?), but no mention of the Tory comment.

Sooner we’re done with those arsepieces, the better.

'Bint' is sexist. 'woman' is not.

(Which is why we say Garbage Collectors or Waste & Refuse Technicians these days, rather than 'bintmen', which is sexist.)

Didn't see it but so what if he did? Did they have a problem with him calling her a woman? Or stupid? Would anyone have minded if he called her an intelligent woman?

I dread to think of how the world will be in 20 years time.

Yeah, it makes light of actual sexism, which is still a big problem in our society (actually worldwide as far as I can tell).

Having said all that, I hope he didn't say it; because if he did, that makes him a liar, I really like Corbyn, I don't want him to be just another lying politician.
