Yes the true Rock Icon is 75 today,so happy birthday Music Mega Legend.A great character who told a certain woman where to go about a certain award he clearly did not want,good on him.
And of course was responsible for some fantastic music in one of the greatest bands ever.So happy Birthday Keith Richards!

You are entitled to your opinion of course,but the Rolling Stones are a pretty good band to say the least.Also music is a growing force of energy,many artists take things here and there and again and again.Look at Classical music and take Kraftwerk,how many pop acts have borrowed their beats over the years.

One of my greatest moments of many years of concert going was seeing the Stones at Hampden, and Keef walking on to the stage playing Jumpin' Jack Flash. Unbelievabley cool as *.

And also must be why both the Stones and Zeppelin have sued and won against other musicians for ripping them off or borrowing from their songs. Songs they * STOLE in the first place.

That is all common knowledge,and yes it is a * shame they died paupers,and there were countless other really talented artists of that genre who also inspired so many acts everywhere,many largely unknown.But Zep and the Stones are not the only ones to have borrowed a fair bit.
But music is like a huge growing tree,many of it's countless branches are shared by many as countless leaves are pruduced every year.

 

They didn't just borrow. They weren't inspired. They stole. They basically covered little known songs, put their name to them and published them, gaining the rights and have made a fortune. Some of the songs were even released comercially.
That's like Real Madrid saying they won the European Cup in 67 and we go to court to argue the case but we lose because they have more money.

They have made millions personally profitng from someone elses work. That is theft. Unfortunately they have enough money and power to just be able to shrug it off.

 

You have a fair point,i have never denied they did this,many a Zep or Stones Fan knows this,but millions still love both.Remember music is shared everywhere.But yes what both bands did is out of order,that has to be agreed.But it is history now and both acts have done their own great music as well.
Funny you brought this up and cool,because many music fans are not aware of this,when i first got into Zep,i thought they wrote all their stuff,when i got a bit more aware it was a shock that likes of Willie Dixon wrote some of their stuff,but they are still a great band as are the Stones.
But yes you are right,it is musical theft as such.As for the football bit,we could always go to court for the 1970 final,i only wish
