    my da was telling me about a old Celtic song from the 60s he’s not sure what’s it’s called and I’ve tried YouTube and google and haven’t found anything

    The line he remembers is “the famous Glasgow Celtic took a holiday to Rome to see Pope John the 23rd”

    Any1 know more about this or have a link for the song

    In the 80s Irish Celts were treated to an all day sing song from the bus 5.30am to boat. On the boat and up to Glasgow. We would get the whole repertoire of Celtic and republican songs. Some real rarities were chanted by the Auld hands and they knew every word, completely * or sober. The one mentioned was sung usually by older members and can’t help but think it was in the song choice of the 60s.
