That list is a real eye opener. Pat Bonner and Craig Gordon is a shocker as is Commons with more than McStay. Just shows how much players have to play compared to back then.

It's the amount of games we play in Europe now.

If we are to reach the Europa League final from now we'll have 23 European games in a season, reaching the Champions League final would be 21 European games.

If we somehow managed to reach the Scottish, League Cup and Europa League final in the same season we'd need to play 70 games in a season(if we avoided Scottish Cup replays) if we were unlucky and all our Scottish Cup games went to replays we could have 73 games in a season. That would mean playing on average every 4.2 days of the season so I wonder what would happen if we actually done that it would probably be impossible to complete a season given that the entire season isn't just club football theres International breaks and the winter break. We'd likely need to postpone about 5 League games to play nearer the end of the season which would probably mean that if we lost the Europa League final our season would be finishing in early June then starting back in early July after a 73 game season :56:

We'd need to end the season and go straight into pre-season training for the next season starting in 4 weeks.

Nice to see Greek Ghod Samaras well in there. Fantastic player on his day.

    40 Pat Bonner
    40 John Hughes

Only 30 players have reached 40.

Wee update since Brown reached his 100th.

Wonder if Tierney is the youngest ever player to play 40 European games? cant be many others who have reached that number by 21.

Tall & slim with wide shoulders is quite common for goalkeepers.
    Nothing really unusual.

A little bit inside hurts when I see players like the lions, mcgrain, McStay & Larsson drop down any meaningful list, even though I know the amount of games is totally skewed.

The stats are skewed to * due to the changes in European competitions, that and as said all the qualifying rounds we now have to play.

He’s 47 now so would need resting in between games though.
