Griffiths is criminally underrated cos he’s a paper calved Leithian Ned. He is, however, also a two footed and very skillful attacker capable of superb 30 yarders, pinpoint free kicks and tap ins alike. His fitness and attitude* are the only things that have stopped him performing at as high a level as say Hooper or McDonald

    * two things Moussa isn’t exactly world class at btw...

All Moussa has on him is strength and aerial ability.

Edouard is the better player and will have the better career. He's neat and tidy keeps the ball and has better movement. Moussa is a beast at times but his all round play is often clumsy and awkward.

    Nah.

He's just not as good as Dembele. That much is obvious.

Obviously thought he was better than he already is making the move, I think he’ll turn out good though and make the step up. He’s still young and only 3/4 months into his move there. Was unlikely he’d hit the ground running like he did with us.

Anyone who thinks Griffiths is better than dembele or even close to the same level is deluded, dembele is the perfect modern striker , physically excellent and can play up top on his own in big games. He's also far more clever positionally than Griffiths, Griffiths has a better left foot but anyone wanting to go into European matches with Griffiths as our main man hasn't got a clue. Edouard will be potentially better but dembele was the best striker we've had since Larsson

Worst excuse in football that fans convince themselves of. Why is Tierney so highly rated, why is Andrew Robertson so highly rated? Scottish players aren't underrated because of where they're from, it is because so few have shown they are capable of playing as well as Tierney and Robertson have in recent times. There's no more to it.

That is true but I 100% believe Callum McGregor would have been appreciated a quicker than he was if he wasn’t Scottish. Mostly because he’s the exact opposite of what you expect off a Scottish Player.

Breaking out older definitely had an impact as well. On loan in third tier of English football for a year before coming back and having a few good months here, then dipping in and out of form under Ronny. Wasn't until Brendan arrived and he was already mid-20s that he really thrived.

And Ronny’s last season as well, it took until last year to realise exactly what he offers and I think it’s because of that. It’s not all of the time but there’s an attitude over here that everything Scottish is *.

But if there’s an attitude there and a love of the Tic we also go overboard as well. Sometimes it smashes between the two rapidly, it’s happened to Broony and Forrest with that as well.

It’s a bit odd but you take each case on it’s own merits I think.

McDonald and Big Jan were genuine European class strikers. I’d put Hooper above Dembele too, top class finisher. Moussa misses too many sitters and goes missing far too often. I’m not saying Griffiths is currently better than Dembele, but if he was able to stay fit for more than a couple months at a time he’d be above him.

But you jut proved my point in mentioning those two. Robertson cost a measly 8 million, almost * all in today’s market. Is he any worse a full back than 50m Kyle Walker? Scottish players are both generally * and also criminally undervalued - both facts can be true. When we eventually sell Tierney it won’t be for more than 30 mill at an absolute maximum, most likely far less, simply because he’s Scottish.

You must not be aware of the Glasgow-Edinburg rivalry. Also did you try to compare two born and bred Celtic fans with a Hibs fan who most people didn’t want at first for being racist? Why is ex ball boy parkhead hero Tierney more popular than Griffiths... hmmm....

Very few players in world football could pull off the two freekicks in two minutes Griff did against England or a few seasons before when he wrongly had a 40 yarder ruled out then promptly smashed another one in exactly the same top corner.

Swap Moussa and Leigh’s Nationalities and it’s not an easy comparison like you make out. Moussa never came close to a 40 goal domestic season and doesn’t have remotely the same shot/goal arsenal.

Andy Robertson cost £8m because he had one year left at Hull, who had just been relegated to the Championship and were in a mess.

Kyle Walker cost £50m because he had played in the EPL for the best part of 10 years, had CL experience, played in the Euros for England. Played for Spurs who could hold City to ransom.

    The comparison is ridiculous tbh.

The fact Griffiths is Scottish changes nothing. He could be from France or Brazil. He'd still be a good goalscorer in Scotland, but limited in certain areas that prevent him from really establishing himself at the next step up.

If Leigh Griffiths was called Leighandro Shevgriffembelo dasilvateacakeo and was from brazil and scored those two free kicks he did against england for Brazil, he still wouldn't be close to being as complete or as good a player Moussa Penbele is, Griffs nationality has nothing to do with it, you make such isolated statements such as Griffs two free kicks, yet Griff couldn't even dream of leading a line like Moussa did for us bullying defenders holding the ball up helping our midfield win the second ball, physically Griff is absolutely no were near Moussa and in reality the only things Griff has over dembele technically wise is set pieces and long range shots which are very useful tools but they dont suddenly make him a better player than Moussa.

Dembele is a technically and physically far superior player to Leigh Griffiths and it isnt even a debate and thats not because thumbs a sweaty sock and Dembele is a bread stick, its because its the truth, one is at Lyon a far better team than us and was bought for 20 million, one was our third choice striker when Dembele was here, do you think thats because Brendan has somthing against scots?

All very good points and you’re right but there’s a thing Griff’s has done that Moussa hasn’t - been consistent over a full season.

That’ll come for Moussa though, Griff has a lot of years on them.
