Phenomenal from Ireland. Got to say that was the worst All Blacks performance I can remember seeing though.

 

Ireland 16-9 New Zealand

First ever win for Ireland over New Zealand at home, far better side on the day.

 

Some contrast with the Irish football team. Should have a good crack at the next World Cup.

 

Watched the last 15 and Ireland didn't give them a sniff..

Felt like New Zealand had a man down or 2 and couldn't get out their own half til the last minute. Had zero chances in that spell..

 

O'Mahony was massive, single-handedly snuffed out an All Blacks try.

 

Ireland will win the World Cup next year.

 

Enjoyed both games today, great win for Ireland.

 

Class day, despite the score. Seeing Scotland do things that we couldn’t even imagine years ago. I love it.

 

Loving the way Scotland are playing right now.

We're not going to win them all (and the style could lend itself to the occasional thumping), but I really don't care. Gregor Townsend truly has his team playing some of the most attractive rugby on the planet.

The first try against SA was genuinely sensational. The second very clever. And who'd have thought a few years back that one day we'd have the balls to be kicking to the corner rather than going for the 3 points in a tight match against one of the southern hemisphere behemoths!

And well done Ireland. Very different style of rugby to Scotland - nowhere near as pretty, but * me their discipline is incredible and the their constant 'grind' must be sickening to play against.

Who's going to win the World Cup? Probably NZ or Ireland, but it's as open as it's ever been!

 

Massive well done to Ireland,the 2nd best team on the planet who overcame the best team on the planet,in my book it is these 2 who will be in the World Cup final.

Also the superb match was on Channnel 4 of course,that brought the Irish a hint of luck as Father Ted was shown on that very channel in its heyday!

 

Joe Schmidt has today announced that he will finish coaching following the Rugby World Cup in Japan next year. Andy Farrell will become head coach after the tournament.

Speaking about his decision to finish coaching Joe Schmidt said: ""I have decided to finish coaching and will prioritise family commitments after the RWC in 2019.

I feel that Irish rugby is in good hands. The management and players have been incredible to work with and the tremendous support we have had, particularly at home in the Aviva, but where ever we have travelled has been uplifting.

Thank you to the IRFU for their support and patience and thanks also to so many people who have adopted my family and me, making us feel part of the community here in Ireland.

There are some inspiring challenges over the next 11 months so there's plenty of motivation for me to continue working hard, alongside the other management staff, so that the team can be as competitive as possible."

Crazy from the French when it looked like they had the game won. Hand Wales two tries, one literally, and all the momentum. I can't see France winning the match now!
