    I attended an event in Saltcoats raising funds for this in November. Got to meet the man himself and had my photo taken with him and the big cup. Was a good night. I am sure the statue will happen eventually and it will be deserved when it does.

    Jeez :eek1: just seen Marky's post and realised that it was almost two years ago that him, Lion1961 and I were down at a fundraiser night in Saltcoats for this.

    Well deserved honour and tribute, delighted for Bobby, he is an absolute gent, got a lot of time for him.

    Great to see such a fitting tribute to Bobby Lennox . If I remember correctly , he was the last of the Lisbon Lions to retire from playing with Celtic . Pretty sure he was still a squad member in the early80's . My personal memory of him is the following ;In the early 1970's , whilst queuing outside Muirton Park , my late Dad lifted me up at a frosted glass window that had a small plain glass window above . Luckily it was the window of the away changing room , and I saw Jock Stein dealing with some paperwork . The squad were putting on their boots etc . Bobby Lennox happened to look up , and when he saw me ( a boy of around 9/10 years old ) he smiled and stuck out his tongue at me .
    As others have said , he's a living legend . And a true gentleman too .
