Some forget that winning the double in the centenary year also stopped the Huns winning 10 in a row. We were definitely miles behind them in terms of personnel that year, but showed a great spirit to win a close run league.

A brilliant Paul McStay and the addition of MacAvennie made a huge difference

January 14 1928 - Jimmy McGrory scores 8 goals in a 9-0 thrashing of Dunfermline which is still a British record.
November 17 1973 - Jimmy McGrory was in the stands to watch Dixie Deans almost equal his record by scoring 6 goals in a 7-0 thrashing of Partick Thistle.

That Depeche Mode when we score!!

We should have won in 1970 and if we had it would have made the Lions even bigger legends if that were possible as it started there. Also so so so close to a third final in 72 and we were heavily kicked robbed of another final in 74 of course.
