Environmental / preservation issues are 'political'!? Oh really!?

So this advert was originally commissioned by Greenpeace... so * what!?

Wonder if a big-wig at Clearcast (the advertising clearing company that rejected the advert) has a sticky finger in the destruction of rainforest and the extinction of a species that shares 97% of our DNA!

    *!

Get signing Bhoys and Ghirls - but more importantly, check all your purchases for palm-oil!

It's ridiculous the amount of products that contain palm oil.

Well done Iceland. Good to see one of the big names take a stand for something that affects us all. The advertising people have no problem to put on ads from M.O.D. calling for new recruits for the army to go to Afghanistan and Iraq to fight in illegal political wars. Crazy to know killing monkeys can offend but killing people is acceptable.:50:

The irony of a supermarket campaigning against deforestation is not lost on me. Animal agriculture accounts for 5 times more deforestation than palm oil does. They going to stop selling Turkeys ? Didn't think so.

An obvious marketing ploy from Iceland btw.

They've also introduced an entire vegan range, in their defence.

    Of course it's a marketing ploy - it's a * 'advert' for the company!

Do Iceland also make money out of doing bad *? Yes!
Does that invalidate the discussion that its provoked regarding palm-oil and censorship? No!
