Mayweather fight cancelled already.

 

Floyd claiming he was tricked, I'm calling bullshit, he knew who he was fighting. I think the fight was never going to happen and both parties knew this as it was a way of getting huge promotion for Rizin best prospect and gets the media attention on an upcoming show and Floyd gets paid for free publicity which he loves.

 

Bit of a riddy for Floyd although if I had his money I doubt I'd really give a *.

 

Dillashaw/Cejudo and Cruz/Lineker in the works for 233.

Flyweight division will get shut down officially in 2019.

 

I wonder will Bellator just sign them all then, I'd rather The UFC get rid of one of their womens divisions instead

It wasn’t the UFC’s fault, it wasn’t Johnson’s fault. It was the rest of the division being miles behind the Champion. Yeh they could have built something on the back of Cejudo beating him, but it would have been one fight then back to him just beating everyone.

It’s the only division in the UFC that you can’t justify headlining a PPV and that’s worrying. Plus if Johnson wasn’t willing to fight Dillashaw, what’s the point in him hanging about.

 

Disagree about the whole UFC not promoting him stuff as well. Rogan was constantly on commentary telling us he was the GOAT etc.

No matter what the UFC done they wouldn’t have made Mighty Mouse a big name. Him * it from TJ was worse for him than the UFC not ‘pushing’ him among the hardcore fans.

Great fighter but always found him an irritating arrogant little * and just couldn’t take to him at all.

It was one of those fights that had everyone scratching their heads, it really made no sense for anyone. Incentives and risk/reward always rule high level combat sports, especially crossover ‘events’ of this nature.

 

I think it's hard to market a guy who has already beaten everyone and refuses to move up to fight tougher opponents. I agree they should have done more, but I'm not distraught that they are getting rid of the division.

 

Aye I agree in this instance they had good opportunity. Dana just didn't like mighty mouse for what ever reason, Cejudo was always going to move up to bantamweight and outside the two of them there isn't a ton of quality in the divison. It makes sense to me why they would want to close it, bit * they aren't asking every fighter to move up though.

Yeah that's true, I guess all the fighters will be free agents and go wherever the money is then. It's a shame really UFC are getting rid as I think there will be some talented fighters in coming years from that weight class from China and Japan.
