Good thing about brown is, at least for me, he hasn't gotten noticeably slower like most players around his age. Probably helped that he was lightning quick in his youth, but it's the main reason i think he'll last another 2 seasons after this, with him possibly rotating with somebody in his last season.

I honestly think it’s massively noticeable how much slower he’s got.

The last few months of last season and this season he’s looked his age.

Fair enough, maybe it's because i'm comparing him to scotlands other midfielders that played recently (aka Mcdonald, Mcarthur, even Mcginn) that i think he's still quick.

I love Brown's work rate and his ability to break up play, that's what he's great at, but he shouldn't be the go to guy when playing out from the back, he should step out of the way and let McGregor or Ntcham take the ball off the back four. You always see him dropping deep and the defenders sometimes look like they've been told they can only pass to Brown, even if he's in no position to take the ball and his first thought is always side ways or backwards. Ntcham and McGregor take the ball in and their first thought is to look forward, then go sideways or backwards if nothing else is on, which allows us to actually counter teams. I think Brown still has a massive part to play in this team as a player and a leader, but not as the guy who takes the ball off of the back four.

I’m hoping it’s just because he’s been playing through injury.

Then why wasn't ntcham or McGregor asked to do that in his absence?

Because Rodgers doesn’t believe they can play a Broony role?

He has got slower through the years but it has coincided with him playing a smarter game.

He's probably going to be gradually easied out of the team.

Don't think it will be as drastic this season, but he'll definitely play fewer games this year and then once next season starts I think he will be more noticeably absent.

Going to be so gutted when he hangs his boots up. One of our most decorated players, an absolute machine in midfield and so dominant and inspirational for others in the team. Add into the bargain he's the biggest wind-up merchant in Scottish football. It'll a sad sad day indeed.

We had a thread recently talking about player's leaving and I was in tears and deflated when Henrik left..

I won't be in tears or that when Broony is gone but it'll definitely be the most gutting departure for me since the king..

Might sound daft to some but it doesn't to me..

    I genuinely think I’ll cry.

Only ever had a teary eye when Henke left, same with Lenny.

Broony will be the same I imagine.

Your last part is fact judging by some of the wallopers from there on here crying all the time because Arzani isn't playing yet (obviously because he's not YET up to scratch).

I love this comment he made when asked about his coaching in the future

“I’m watching games differently and I’ve started taking notes. Although there are lots of spelling mistakes!”

He got his B coaching licence and is in progress of getting his A coaching licence.

Do you think he's the richest Scottish player ever from the Scottish League? must have earned at least £20million in his career and has never played outside Scotland.
