Announced today it's to be sold off to the highest bidder, and a new "super" jail built on one of 3 locations somewhere on the outskirts of Glasgow - to be called HMP GLASGOW.

Place is an absolute shithole, but it's history.

Supposedly your sentence flies in when in BarL

Saying that I was glad I never got sent there as I was meant to because of lack of space at bowhouse

I was given one star accommodation in Bar - L . Just the one night mind you , and that was long enough . I'd spent the previous night in Maryhill polis station . Oh so glad to get out of there . A long term stay would grind you down . That was in the time of slopping out first thing , then out for breakfast and back to the cell to eat it . My uniform included brown flares with a rip from ankle to the knee . That was over 30 years ago . No wish to get B. and B. in a place like that again .
