i'm thinking of investing in a soundbar but haven't a clue what one to buy.
the house I'm living in has a small living room so the wattage could be quite low,i wouldn't have too much room for a sub woofer so a built in sub would be good, budget is give or take 150 euro.
or are soundbars all their cracked up to be?
    cheers.

It's all budget depending as is most things in life, but if you can manage to stretch a bit further, you should try get the Sonos Beam. Bang for buck, it's probably the best in class at £299 - it's also fairly future proof and you can sync more Sonos speakers with it later.

It has Amazon Alexa built-in too.

For soundbars below that budget, I haven't been particularly impressed. Quite a lot of the budget bars are guilty for lag issues.

If you’re going up the budget bracket slightly and have Sky Q, their soundbox is 250 quid for multiroom customers.

For what is an 800 quid Devialet product.

I had a Roth bar 3 the thing was incredible sound was crisp and bass was great, came with a wireless sub, had to get rid as my new cable box remote would work the sound bar too and became a pain but it was an outstanding addition to my set up

Go onto Richer sounds website. They work hand in hand it’s What Hifi. You will get all the info you need, its rating and the suitability for your budget. They are well priced because they deal in a lot of end of line products.

Sonos or Bose are the best I’ve heard but it depends on budget.

What i would add to the above is that if you are trying to fill a small room then you will unlikely actually need a sub as well. You won't be playing movies or watching sport at levels where a sub will be a major benefit.

I'd also avoid a sub if your in a flat, those booms travel through walls more than the problem child next doors voice.

    Same as me.
Connected it up and played metal through the tv.
Nearly deafened the missus when she walked in the room.
