The Daily Bogroll reckon we're in for Zinchenko on loan:

"Celtic are reportedly in the running to land Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko on loan.

Brendan Rodgers was on Sunday pictured at the Etihad taking in City’s annihilation of Huddersfield. It is yet unclear the reason for his visit.

Now reports in Spain have claimed the Scottish champions are interested in the Ukraine star.

Zinchenko knocked back the opportunity to join Wolves earlier this month on a permanent deal and his agent Pere Guardiola is now looking at alternatives.

Celtic would face competition from Real Betis and Girona, who took Patrick Roberts on loan from sister club City last week.

Zinchenko is versatile and can play on the left side of defence or midfield.

The 21-year-old started just six Premier League games last season. He is contracted at the Etihad until 2020, with the option of another year."

 

Lazy journo * as per, he literally just turned down a 16m move to Wolves, why the * would he join us? File under pish for me.

Would love to be wrong as he's a decent player even though he's a left back/Cm and i think the last position we need is that.

 

The only way I could see it is if he wants to go to a bigger club than Wolves and Celtic can get him games. However I doubt it, it seems they saw Brendan at City and made a story.

I was under the impression that he’s actually a centre/attacking midfielder who was shoe horned into the role of left back last season due to injuries to Mendy and Delph, is that not the case?

If it is, then it’s a no brainer.
