BHOYS IN FOR BRUMA

Sky Sports News reported earlier that Celtic are preparing a bid for Aberdeen central defender Scott McKenna but another player on their radar is Dutch defender Jeffrey Bruma.

According to Bild, Wolfsburg are open to selling him this summer for £5m after he was left out of their matchday squad against SV Elversberg at the weekend.

Bruma has been capped 25 times by the Netherlands and lists PSV, Hamburg, Leicester and Chelsea as his former clubs.

 

Not sure if accurate, but according to this guy's Wikipedia page he's already a member of Paddy Mc Courts's * army and the huddleboard

WOLFSBURG star Jeffrey Bruma has shot down reports of a move to Celtic.

German media claimed Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers hoped to land the Holland international.

The former Chelsea youngster, who also had a loan spell with Leicester, is one of six central defenders at Wolfsburg.

He was linked with a move to Crystal Palace earlier this summer.

However Rotterdam-born Bruma insisted: “I have read about Celtic’s interest in me.

“But nobody has spoken about it, either with me or with my agent.

“I am under contract with Wolfsburg, and I don’t want to talk a lot about my future.”

Bruma played in the Bundesliga club’s pre-season friendlies, but was left out of their squad for the 1-0 German Cup win over Elversberg.

Coach Bruno Labbadia said: “It’s vital to have competition for places. The key for Jeff is to press his claims for inclusion.”

Sporting director Jorg Schmadtke added: “I don’t comment on speculation, but we don’t have any offers for Bruma.”

 

We should really be looking at Jeffrey fae Toys R Us, nae transfer fee involved after they went the way of the huns and he certainly has the height to play at the back and be a threat at set pieces.

This is exactly the type of centre half we should be going for.

A quality centre half who we could get for cheaper than his true value because he isn’t a first pick at the moment. Move Boyata on and get Bruma in.

Celtic have denied the rumours recently but would they actually come out and say yeah we are very interested? Could equally be a lot of * though
