    Wrong.

    He needs a good partner, and someone else to come in for him now and again.

    Worth remembering he is 20 years old and has had to deal with the pressure of being relied upon as our best option for well over a season now.

    Incredible statement to say he isn't good enough.

    I think everyone does.

    The same has probably been said for every below par player to play for Celtic in history, however.

    We’ll need to agree to disagree then.

    I think if you’re good enough then you’re old enough.

    Tierney, Dembele, Ntcham, Edouard are all roughly the same age and in my opinion have shown to be good enough to be playing first time football for Celtic.

    As far as I am concerned Ajer hasn’t. And as for Jack Hendry- I genuinely don’t know how he has made it as a professional football player never mind a first team player at a club like Celtic. I think you could have picked a couple of guys out of the Celtic end at Firhill on Saturday who would have looked more composed and competent than Hendry.

    Hendry is gash. I'll agree on that.

    I think your opinion of Ajer is incredibly harsh though and very against the general consensus. For a guy who has just turned 20 as I say in April, in a new position, he's been good.

    It's unfair to judge him playing with 3 or 4 different partners. All of them not good enough.

    As I say, he shouldn't be the one we are relying on, too much pressure on him at such an early stage, which needs to be alleviated.

    This current tide of opinion on Ajer has come about when he’s been partnered with Hendry and it’s no coincidence whatsoever.

    Ajer is a potential superstar.

    Maybe you’re right and I am being a bit harsh on Ajer.

    He’s definitely got some attributes like driving forward and his distribution is generally good.

    However the rest of his game is fairly poor for me. He’s not dominant enough, poor positioning and gets suckered in far too easily. And that’s why I don’t think he’s good enough.

    But at the end of the day I hope proves people like me wrong, and that he goes on to be a great defender for Celtic.

    He's 20 years old and up until a year and a half ago had been a midfielder. Considering his age, the fact he's learning on the job, and his constant rotation of partners at the back...he's done a grand job. His quality and potential is absolutely clear to see.

    Not only is he our most consistent centre half right now, he's also become a first team player at international level.
