It's a well known fact that Liverpool had a transfer panel - look at all the nonsensical transfers they made even before Rodgers was there. Klopp spoke in depth about how them getting rid of it sealed the deal for him.

Liverpool was weird though, the last season after Suarez was sold he could make reccomendations to a 6 man panel wo’d decide who to sign. They would also decide who to sign without his ibput.

    Was mad.

Expect 1 defender and 1 midfielder. Can see one winger leaving.

    Think it be Ryan Christie.

Christie and Allan will both go if there are appropriate bids. Hopefully swiftly followed by Boyata.

I’d expect to see at least 2 in, will be shocked if we go into deadline day without having 1 tied up.

We just need one solid centre back to settle our defence and reinstore confidence throughout the team, then I think we'll be flying again. Hopefully we don't try and penny-pinch or half * it.

I understand another midfielder would be good to replace our outgoing players, but we're already well stocked in that dept. Just spend as much as we can on one big experienced no-nonsense centre half.

Don’t you mean obviously *you* don’t understand English?

But we clearly don’t have CM’s who can come in who are good enough.

We're either being too tight, or we haven't been looking hard enough. Either way, there should be no excuses for not having a decent central defensive partner for Kris Ajer in place by the end of the window.

If Boyata is coming back into the fold then it's all but guaranteed we have no intention of buying additional defenders.

If the team stays like this we are really leaving ourselves vulnerable , especially with a Europa league campaign on top of domestic games.

5 days from the AEK defensive calamities and there aren't even murmurs that we've made a move for upgrades. What the * is going on behind the scenes?

Minimum of 1 defender coming in apparently. Rodgers at City game today, could be something to do with it.

I prefer it when there aren’t even murmurs, the last couple of times that happened we ended up with moussa Dembele then Ntcham.

Last two times we’ve dealt in public we lost out on John McGinn and signed Jack Hendry :56:

I feel the biggest issue with recruitment is the boards obsession with the money-ball concept, and it's attempts to ensure all the players have some kind of re-sell value after 2-3 seasons.

When successful (VVD, Wanyama and Armstrong) it obviously adds to revenue streams, but our recruitment is failing too frequently to really capitalise on any positives.

Allen, Christie, Morgan, Mackay-Steven, Ciftci, Scepovic, Kouassi, Compper, Simunovic and Hendry have all been recently signed with the hope they will 'kick on' at some point.

Hopefully the board have recognised the waste and decided to try a different approach, by maybe spending more (Ntcham, Edwaard) over numerous poorer risky investments.

Still need a decent centre half though.

Also sure it's no coincidence that the floodlights, pitch and hotel have all had investment over the past 6 months.

Budgets only go so far I guess!!

Fair point but I expected a little bit more movement after Tuesday.

If we get hit with the usual "we tried but ran out of time at the end of the window" people will lose their *.

So far we've re-signed Odsonne 9 weeks ago and Arzani on loan.

Time to get the finger out and stop * around.

It’s frustrating as * no doubt. And re-signed Izzy. Which I think will be a much better signing than folk will credit.
