Now I cant vouch from memory about his performance, but we rocked into Borussia Monchengladbach and Manchester City away with a back up 30 year old Izzy and got two 1-1 draws.

thing is bobo you aint going to get someone to come here knowingly being back up to the future captain of celtic it just aint going to happen, but I agree with you in an ideal world but KT doesn't need anyone to push him he is of the same mould as Broony its 100% or nothing - never have to worry about KT getting complacent

Exactly. Look what having Roberts and Forrest in the same position done to Forrest, competition is only a good thing and Izzy isn't going to provide that.

He definitely does need some competition, more importantly he needs a rest. Played far too many games last year and it showed at times.

I can vouch from memory about his performance in Fir Park the day we won 4-3. His last season at the club. Hooked after half an hour, when we were 2.0 down.

We should be aiming for better. If we felt we need cover at LB, we've had an entire window to sort something. Now we're turning to a 32 year old ex-player who's well past his best

He had a shocker at Fir Park in his pomp as well, no one is saying he's infallible. He's coming in as a squad option, an experienced squad option.

We wouldn’t have added a left back this window if Izaguirre had been unavailable. I understand why people are grumbling, but he’s better than nothing.

We also have Hayes who can play LWB when we play three at the back so between him and Izzy we have well enough cover for KT.

A player who's been over the course , doesn't make sense to spend money on a LB backup when you have a young talent such as Tierney who nobody would get in ahead of anyway.

How people can think bringing back a 32-year old Izzy, who can’t even cut it in the Saudi Arabian league at this stage, is a good idea is beyond me. Bringing him back instead of signing a younger LB with greater potential and an ability to push KT to improve just seems like lazy and uninspiring business from our part.

Ack a guy who’s on low wages, experienced in the Champions League, and the in winning cups and trophies, a good presence in the squad who knows he’ll only play about 5 games or something? I’m not too bothered tbh.

His legs had gone before he left..

We can do better than bringing him back at 32..

    Absolutely not.

So you think an experienced international with almost 100 caps to his name, knows the club inside and out and we know exactly what type of player we're getting on a freebie who's happy to be back up to Tierney is desperate?

    I certainly don't.

The only issue with it is repeatedly being told "quality not quantity", we're not bringing in players to fill the bench etc. This seems like just that, even if he is a former fan favourite. I don't mind the signing at all for the same reasons, he knows he's 100% backup, but it goes against what we're constantly told regarding signings.

Lets be honest who we gonna sign to push KT? We value him at like 30 million fs. We need someone happy to play 2nd fiddle in that position
