Mate, I don't know where you're getting your info fro. But im pretty sure we didnt have to haggle with dundee for the entire january window to arrive at a final fee as low as 200k.
And to be quite frank he's a bit poor. Getting a game for an injury hit Scotland in a meaningless friendly is no measure of quality. " first choice" in champions league qualifier? More like last resort.

I have no idea why we sold Sviatchenko without a replacement already in.

Him and Jozo, despite weaknesses, were by far our best experienced central defenders. Now we have a tired (and in my opinion *) Boyata, very raw Hendry, mystery Compper and the brilliant but not yet perfect Ajer for arguably the biggest games of the season.
Lustig at CB is an even bigger bombscare than at RB.

Astonishing we consistently fail to strengthen the defence. Thank * for KT and his fitness levels or we’d be truly screwed at the back.

However, still plenty time. Just wish we strengthened properly in January.

We paid 1.5 million for Hendry if I'm not mistaken not 200k. We paid 1.3 million too much for him.

I would actually go further and say we shouldnt have paid a penny for him.

A FAILED league 1 player who was farmed out on loan as he wasnt deemed good enough to turn out for wigan in said league

Arrives back north and slide tackles his own player in what was/is his only youtube highlight reel.

He's already 23 and has zero about him that would indicate that hes one for the future.

Yet there are still some people on here peddling the BR magic wand that magically transforms * players into world beaters.

BR cant do that. He can improve a player and get their form back (sinclair, mcgregor, broony, forrest et al) but he cant polish a * and make it a gold brick.

He's trying his best to keep our deals under wraps I would imagine.

Sviatchenko is pish mate.. but aye I agree only Ajer is the desired quality.. Simunovic has the quality but not the mindset.. Boyata may still make it..

Around when Deila was leaving it was very difficult to see how we were going to turn this ship around with minimal funds. Mad when you think of the progress made under Brendan. Guy's a genius.

Agree with most of the posts on this thread but what concerns me most is BR doesnt seem to have much input into identifying players who fit our model, seems to me the Head of Recruitment is the one responsible for this task with maybe Brendan having his say near the end of the process, I may be reading to much between the lines but i thought Brendan was the type of Manager who identified the players and told the H.O.R. to go and get him. :39:

not disputing Brendan's good work but he did take over a team of champions who just needed some TLC and tactical work.

wasn't like we were a relegated sinking ship.

Rodgers immediately corrected all issues when he arrived, Sinclair, Dembele and Toure. He needs to be that decisive again with quality signings.

Maybe he doesn't realise he's the most powerful Celtic manager in decades, with regards his position with the board. If they don't back him and he leaves there'll be riots, he needs to push the case for a defensive equivalent of Edouard.

Way easier said than done mate. No guarentees with spending £8m odd on anyone in this market.

A few have said it.. but the English market closing early gives the likes of us a fighting chance in some ways..

It’s also gives us time to replace any players that may be taken by that ‘Vodoo Economic’ market..

2m their saying he cost now it was maybe bareable just.... at 1m but 2m on a player who has had regular long injury layoffs is old and was never great to begin with ?,

you know thats what makes me think dubiously about some transfer signings in general, (not usually with our club though)

in our case it just look like absolute carelessness/recklessness or knee * reactionary

id love to be proved wrong though and he would come back into the team soon and have an brilliant season for us in champions league and domestically
