I always feel when we get a new manager, winning the League Cup is quite important to gather early momentum and build confidence.

This season coming I don’t want to give them a sniff, lets bury the Hun under Gerrard early doors.

The Treble Treble should be our aim..

Used to hate this competition under the old format. Last 8 in November, a semi in Jan and a final in March. Dragged the * right out of it.

Love that it's done and dusted in November now. It's a nice way to start the season.

I want to win everything, at every opportunity, but no-one can pretend it's our top priority.

In my opinion, our priorities in order from top to bottom are:

    1. Win the league
    2. Qualify for the CL group stages
    3. Scottish Cup
    4. Progress from group stages if possible
    5. League Cup

I think Rangers will falter in the league as I think many of their players (especially the young loanees) will get bullied and Gerrard won't know how to combat it, but I really don't want them to win a trophy and any team can win a cup, just takes one bad match to lose the fight. Part of the joy of winning the treble is knowing Rangers won nothing.
I also think we should set a European record of a Treble Treble. 9 trophies on a trot, and I think with the depth we have in attack and midfield we should easily be able to rotate.

Because we're going for a treble treble the league cup takes on greater significance.

So even before a ball is kicked, we've already set ourselves up for history. How many teams can go into their new season saying that? The same is true for as long as this run is going. Should we do the treble treble this season we'd be looking to do the quadruple treble the next season... and on it goes.

It's a bit like the unbeaten run, games that would usually be not that important become essential as they now have the potential to create history.

Early season targets will be - Qualify CL/Win League cup/Be in contention for league (i know) no-one wins it by the Autumn.
Mid season targets will be - Still in europe come new year/looking to kick on in league/progress in Scottish cup
End of season - Win league/Aim for SC final.

    And repeat.

Its not really up for debate as Rodgers sets out to win every bit of silverware on offer.

We will take it seriously every year while he is with us, at least.

My main wish (long term) is for 10-In-A-Row (or even more), so winning the title is always number one priority ..... My next wish is getting into the CL Group stages and performing better than last season ..... My third wish would be not to give the Tribute Act known as Sevco a sniff of a trophy, when you've got your enemy down, stamp him into the ground and don't give him a chance to get up. Therefore winning the League Cup is a great marker to all that it's business as usual, and the Slippy One will not be reviving their fortunes.

Want to win everything, but not as much as I want to see our top players fully able to get us the best possible result in the group stage.

It would depend on how it would effect our ability to perform in other tournaments. Would an early league cup victory be more important than 3 cl points. For me no.

Think it would be good to rest players and give youngsters and fringe players a chance in this. although we won the treble again last year, our form and our style of play suffered through injuries and fatigue.

A balance of both things. Testing more new players but taking it seriously. Our 5-0 against Kilmarnock with a squad full of youngsters was one of our most entertaining matches this year. It's not as if we could just pick one

Feel like the seasons almost split into two mini seasons under Rodgers.

July to Winter Break - Qualify for CL and Win the League Cup while managing the league games.

Winter Break to end of season - win the Scottish Cup and really pull away in the league.

We were a bit unlucky after we steamrolled killie 5-0 in the first round last year Brendan couldnt put out a similar fringe team to go and play Dundee in the next round since we had ibrox on the saturday

Likelyhood of 38 games before the new year break. Some rotation outside of home league games will be needed and this tournament is bottom of priorities so well see what happens.

I would like to see Bain, Hendry, Eboue, Morgan and Christie played and if they perform well keep their place for the duration of the tournament..

I'd play a fringe 11 as much as I could..

4 or 5 anyway as it's gonna be grueling again like last year..

    Bain

    Lustig
    Ajer/Hendry
    Simunovic
Backup left back that we sign

    Kouassi
    McGregor

    Right winger signed or shooders
    Morgan
    Sinclair

    Griffiths

Something like that is easily good enough to win the first cup..

Half of them already winner's and proven..

Answered option 2. Of course it’s important but it’s not a priority imo, with the following caveat.

The fact the competition lies between CL group stage fixtures, if we are there of course, means I’d be more concerned about the latter.

Way I see it, say someone like Broony for example, had a niggle, and it was a case of resting him for a league cup game or a CL game, it’s a no brainer. So perhaps the option should be it’s not the priority.

Obviously I'd like to win everything again but real progression in Europe is much more important both financially and in prestige.

As McGuire says above, a 2nd string from ourselves should be good enough to win it. That said, when Broony was dropped out the team last season the performance levels dropped considerably.

Every trophy is important..Look at Mourinho down south, whether with Chelsea or Man Utd he wants to win it..Brendan wants the lot
