He's fast and a bit of a unit. Just a shame he can't play football.

Porto has signed an agreement with Swiss right-back Saidy Janko for five seasons after the player has completed the necessary medical examinations.

Janko made a commitment to Saint-Etienne last year. FC Porto has invested around € 3 million, an acceptable amount considering the player's career in the youth teams of the Swiss team and passed by clubs on the international scene.

The Swiss right-back is again a player recruited in France by the dragons, confirming that this market is exploited in a particular way since the arrival of Sergio Conceição. Although he did not play much for Saint-Etienne last season, Janko is a player that the coach of the dragoons had to advise thanks to his great knowledge of the championship of France.

Although still quite young (22 years old), the player has already performed for Manchester United, where he distinguished himself in the 2013/14 season as the Reserve Team Player of the Year. This performance, which was won at the age of 18, did not open the door of the Red Devils' main team to Janko who then played for Bolton, Celtic and Barnsley, his last club before signing a contract. with Saint-Étienne.

Janko comes to FC Porto, just ten days after signing Brazilian Joao Pedro, also right-back, and with whom he shares many characteristics: the offensive appetite and the speed of projection towards the attack. Janko and João Pedro belong to the same generation and are likely to be in mano to man for a place in the team next season from July 2nd. "

I nearly spat my * drink out when i seen this the other day. I haven’t seen him play since he left us, but I’m assuming he’s improved a * of a lot then? One of the worst players I’ve seen pull on our jersey. Will never forget his performance against beer Sheva, the lad absolutely shat it on the big stage.

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Swiss defender Saidy Janko on a season-long loan from FC Porto.

The 22-year-old progressed through the ranks at FC Zurich before he was signed by Manchester United on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2013.

Game time was limited for the Swiss Under-21 international at Old Trafford so he made a loan move to Bolton Wanderers in February 2015 before he signed permanently for Celtic that summer.

Having made 20 appearances at Celtic Park, including four in the UEFA Champions League, Janko enjoyed further loan spells at Barnsley and St Etienne before he signed for FC Porto in June.

Primarily a right-back, Janko is also equally adept at playing as a right-winger and he now joins up with Aitor Karanka’s squad for the rest of the 2018-19 season.
