Brilliant. The only team who wanted to play ball. Rovers were toothless...just like their rent a mobs Hibs/Bury attacking Dalymount the night before. Horrible team, horrible mob

Some good crowds over the first 2 weekends of the league is great to see as well. Just wish the FAI could get together with the clubs and work hard at finding the finance to make all the grounds in the league decent if modest stadiums that actually can help attract support. Most of the leagues stadiums are total dumps still. Any word on the re development of Dalymount? I have not seen anything recently on where that is at.

The FAI are a sham. Here we are just the 2nd week in. And some partime clubs are lookin at 4 games in 9 days. CRAZY.
They have no value of players welfare
No respect for fans. Etc etc...
While we all agree most stadia are dumps. Do you really think fanbases would continue to grow, just cause theres a clean seat. I dont think so, not with these gobshites running it.

Agreed. I don't understand why they don't just make the close season a bit shorter to cut out the fixture congestion. Totally agree with you on the shocking state of most so called stadiums in the league.

Bohemians or Shamrock? Trying to understand Celtic fans allegiance.

I still prefer Derry City as always love going to Derry.

For me it is Bohemians. That was mainly because growing up even though I was a south sider I played for Belvedere who had good links with Bohemians in those days.

Just ask around the Derry lads next time your over, they'll fill you in. Id say most LOI fans of other clubs, hate Rovers.

I was waiting on the Shamrock Rovers / Bohs match just now for 250 quid in the over 2.5.

Was checking flashscores and it went into the 90th and assumed i was *. Bohs ended up scoring in the 100th minute of play!! Who says Irish football ain't corrupt! lol, but seriously, don't know why there was so much injury time, maybe crowd trouble with it being a derby perhaps?

I thought Celtic fans would all love Shamrock because of the colours? My Manc mate at uni whose Mum is from Dublin keeps telling me the working class/socialist/basically 'good' team is Bohs.

Derry is however the city I return to most and I like the people/shirt/city so I prefer Derry City. Having said that if I do my Masters degree at Queens (Belfast) I may end up watching Cliftonville. Why the * do they still play in the NI League anyway? Republicans should be boycotting it, right?

Well in Cliftonville btw for boycotting the anthem.

Always thought Cliftonville should apply to play in the LOI.

Having Irelands second largest city represented in the league would not only massively enhance the league down here but also increase Cliftonvilles standing as a club IMO.

Don't even know if its ever been discussed or looked into by the club ?

Don't care about Cliftonville mesell. As they have a some wee connection with those Rovers Pigs, & that they go to each others games.
I did hear that the 2 of them got their bollox kicked out of them when acting up in the Barra's back in '13. Just before Celtic met Cville in a CL qualifiers.

It seems that Limerick FC already struggling and firmly in a relegation battle are struggling financially off the field as well. Not looking good for them which is a real shame for football Shannon side.

I care an awful lot about Bohs. I lived close to Dalymount for two years and they became a part of my life. Their fans are the closest to what the GB is, as in their obvious anti fascist and left wing attitude. I have nothing against Shamrock Rovers but I prefer Bohs

It's bit of a meme in the LoI Limerick doing a sevco and restarting under a new name, happened a few times already.

That said, struggling financially is a description that applies to the entire league. Most teams survive one way or another

Very fair point about the league in general sadly. It is easy to just point the finger at the FAI although they have to take a good chunk of the blame but there are just numerous instances of people running various clubs just acting in an irresponsible manner financially and the whole house of cards come crashing down at some point and sadly Limerick FC just seem to be the latest following pretty quickly on the heels of the mess at Bray Wanderers.
Hopefully the new expanding underage age national structure will help start to funnel more and more young talent into the clubs first teams in a much more financially stable way for the clubs futures.
