Aye we done it too when he got subbed last game at Celtic Park. Was a wonderful moment, such an incredible player and character he is revered by every football fan.

 

Didn’t know that Iniesta was off to China until last night.

Last I heard there was rumours that Barcelona were going to offer him a contract to keep playing until he was wanting to finish and then be involved with coaching after that.

33 is too young for him to leave to China imo. Still a world class player.

Would be class if we made him an offer

 

He doesn’t want to continue at Barca if he can’t produce his best, and while still being an absolute world class footballer, his powers are beginning to fade. He’ll make a fortune in China for a season or 2 and return to Barca to coach you’d imagine.

Emotional as * watching that last night every person in the stadium on their feet applauding an absolute genius of the game. Will be sad seeing Barca without him next season. Then you’ve got Messi, Busquets and Pique getting older as well.

Be weird seeing Barca in a few years, interesting to see how they’ll cope without a whole generation of players who gave them so much.

 

When did he decide he was going I never knew either ?

He'll be 34 in a couple of weeks but still your point is valid, he showed last night he's still one of the best players in the world.

I was thinking about Henke and comparing his move to Barca when he was a year younger. In his first season he suffered a bad injury and was out for a while yet Barca still offered him the two year extension and in the second season he contributed 10 goals to their La Liga title but more significantly he had a major impact as a sub in their UCL final success, Thierry Henry singling him out as the major game changer.

So it does seem a bit strange that Iniesta would move when he still has the ability to make major impacts on big games.

Maybe he wants to leave on a high but there is no doubt the money he must be getting will be incredible and he'll also have a huge effect on the popularity of the Chinese League.

I agree that he'll probably come back to Barca afterwards to get involved with coaching, it's where his heart belongs. Him and Xavi might make an amazing partnership managing them in a few years.

Aye it would be class if we made him an offer haha I mean we could give him the £7m we got for Virgil for a season and it would be worth it to see Iniesta in the Hoops getting us to the last 16 of the CL and beyond!

He will be getting offered stupid money over there.

He will certainly be leaving on a high. Was great to see the Sevilla fans showing their appreciation for him last night.

 

Aye, I mentioned earlier we did it at Celtic Park but I said it was the last game, it was actually the one when Broony got sent off.

 

Heard the rumours/talk of this Iniesta going to China, but didn't believe it till today and seen something on twitter about it.
Sad times that he is moving on from Barcelona, but by * what a player and good luck making a fortune in China.




I read his book when it came out a year or 2 ago, I don't think he will actually return to Barcelona as a coach. Not at first anyway.
Reckon he will go back home to his family, old friends and work away at the family side of things.
