Hibs deserved a win agaimst us this season

Hibs played out their skin today and we were bottle merchants, no two ways about it.

 

Disappointed with that result, should be wrapping the league up as early as possible.

 

Fair play to Lenny he has a team fighting and working hard for Hibs to even be in the mix for 2nd in there 1st season back in the top flight is a credit to the job he's done there

 

Brendan’s thoughts on today’s game

 

Hibs were good , we didn’t turn up , simples and no conspiracy theory.

 

I'm sure for some this was the result that brings around the chance to ram it up the mob next week and therefore they don't really give one.....I don't see it that way....I think it's an absolute travesty to be in the position of securing the league by winning the match and then turn in a performance like that.

It's obvious that things are far from right with this team this season.....but if BR doesn't know how to fix it then I'm sure I don't know either......but that doesn't stop me from complaining about what I'm watching week in week out.

I feel that no one played very well today....even Broony.....but it's hard for me as a fan to understand the managers thinking when he goes out and buys players that basically can't slot into the team no matter how much we need them.

Hendry, Boyata and Ajer were mercilessly tested today......Lennys tactics were obvious from the start.....we failed to compete...plain and simple.

By fielding this team today BR is clearly saying he doesn't have a replacement RB for Lustig (no development team step up player ?) and had to make do with a lad that he doesn't trust to play regularly at CB as yet... but allows him to play in a slot he doesn't know very well.......you all seen how that went today.

He's fielding a CB in Boyata that is making Efe look good.....a bomb scare in every game just like Efe was.

Ajer lacks pace as I've said before and can be turned so easily by a player who has a quick 5 yards in him....but he is a trier for sure.

Why are these our only options at the back ?

Ntcham is just too inconsistent and although I like him and what he can do.....it just doesn't seem to click for him in a lot of games and the harder he tries the further downhill his game goes.... as was visible today.

Bringing on Sinclair just compounds the fact that we have a squad full of midfielders who are behind him in the pecking order even when he's a mere shadow of the player we know him to be....if that's the case then why are the others there at all ?

I could go on and on but what I really want to question is the buys we've made to enhance the team that were 'Invincible' last season.....who are they and where are they ?

I struggle to understand what's gone on there.

They pressed high and showed more energy than us. Another one of those games where we want too much time on the ball. They out fought us pretty much. We didn't look switched on.

 

it was a war and hibs were physically stronger and had more energy about them

not that we didnt have energy they were just better they swamped our midfield and pressed right up on us their midifelders mcgeoch mcginn and the other chap were strong and quick in teh tackle not letting us settle, mcgeoch tackling !!!

brown and ntcham were given a helluva hard game physcially in the midfield and we know they are two strong mofos

it was quite the masterful tactics and performance from hibs credit to them

they new if they pressed high onto our midfield and back 3 we'd struggle to get a good foothold in the game

 

As much as I liked the idea of Hibs getting closer to Sevco and us having the chance of winning it at home next week it was a sore one to take. Hibs played better and once again Craig Gordon starts his pish with floaty balls out to the wings. Looked off the pace and lacked aggression all over the pitch. Was really disappointed with Griffiths but onwards and upwards.
