Odsonne Edouard

He’s a very good young player. Think he gets underrated because we all love Dembele & Griffiths so much. I’d sign him in the summer instead of risk buying another striker.

 

i have no doubt we can afford it but i would like to know how much it is

if under 3 million then it could be good business, if way over that then i;m not so sure .. we have bought plenty of potential in the past that turned out to be total flops

it could also be down to the lad himself, he has seen the club, seen our fans and has picked up some medals so he might be interested in more than cash .. i hope so

 

No chance Edouard would be a flop, imo.

 

Think most would agree it would be down to the fee involved. I'm the first to criticise the board for being tight but £7m would be a big risk.

 

Can’t believe anyone wouldn’t want him tbh. Highly doubt he’d be more than 6million and after utter donuts like Pukki and Ciftci the last few years Edo is as close as we’ll get to proven quality up front. Already knows the city, manager and most importantly the team. Wouldn’t be against another loan either.

Was on 40k a week at Chelsea when he signed his new contract and we agreed to pay his wages in full, second article has a bit of bullshit in it saying that we paid 5m in loan fees for him lol

 

out of our 3 strikers I think he would be the most likely to score next week if starting, it's probably fair dembele gets the nod if fit though

 

As long as the fee isn't too big, which rodgers said a while ago the fees quoted in the press were way off, I don't see why we wouldn't go for him, I think he's shown more than enough that we're not taking that much of a risk with him.

He has been fantastic linking up with Dembele and I’m sure him and Griff would have a good understanding also.

 

Done more in the short time he was on than Griffiths did the full game.

 

on a bad day he gets a pass mark.. always looking for the ball. not losing the ball. took his chance well

OLIVIER Ntcham has endorsed the idea of Odsonne Edouard strengthening Celtic’s French connection by making a permanent move to the Scottish champions.

The Celtic midfielder believes his compatriot, who is on loan from Paris Saint Germain until the end of the season, would be best served by agreeing to join Brendan Rodgers’ side in the summer.

Celtic manager Rodgers has already stated he wants to make Edouard’s deal permanent. The 20-year-old striker has scored nine times for Celtic, including the Ladbrokes Premiership winner against Rangers at Ibrox in March.

Ntcham made a £4.5 million move to Celtic last summer from Manchester City after watching how his French Under-21 colleague, Moussa Dembele, thrived after being bought by Rodgers in 2016. Dembele turned into a serial scorer against Rangers, and also netted in that 3-2 Ibrox win, as well as the 4-0 Scottish Cup semi-final victory in which Dembele and Ntcham both scored penalties.

“For me, Odsonne is a very good player and the more he plays the more he improves,” said Ntcham. “He is happy here. I won’t try to persuade him because he is his own man. But he knows how I feel. It helps to have fellow French players."
