he could have made a good celtic player but we went for the expensive so to speak foreigner every time

back in the early 80's when i was growing up he'd have been a celtic player amassing 600 appearances

Even if he doesnt go on to be a great player he is making the most of his footballing career. He has already played in Norway and now Italy, must be a good experience not just in football but in life. Good luck to him.

GMS also took some decent corners today. We are really shocking at set pieces. I can't remember the last threatening corner not taken by Griff.

But his problem was the position we played at. Attacking midfielder is the most overcrowded position of our squad. If only we had a defender from our academy as good as Henderson.

And to be honest, the problem aren't the "foreigners" we sign, that are obviously a class above most of the time (Ntcham, Roberts, Musonda), but the SPFL squad filling players we bring all the time. We have players good enough to be squad fillers as Henderson from our academy.

 

I remember, some people spoke of Henderson as if he wasn't good enough for Motherwell.

Key player for Hibernian, scottish cup champions with a very good display in the final, norwegian champions with 4 goals in 6 months despite being a midfielder coming from the bench most of the time. Plus 37 games for Celtic and now at Italian Serie B. And he is only 21.

Honestly, this is a much better career than most of the "guys with a scottish grandpa" in the bench of a league one team that often make it to the national team. Remember all the hype around that fella who played for Nottingham Forest and was "the future of Scottish Football"?

 

Henderson and GMS are not playing for us anymore because they aren’t good enough for us.

You don’t sign a player or play a player purely based on their corner taking.

Also the foreigner thing needs to be nipped in the bud quickly. That’s Hun mentality. We’ve signed some awful foreign players and some awful home grown players. Doesn’t matter where they are from.
