Where does the “earn more next 22 years or work till 68 come from”?
Did you just pluck that statement out your *?
Or do you know his finances?

    Let the people sing.
    Take the long term view.
If you get a job that gives yr back stick, ask yourself will it have a detrimental long term affect? Will it impede your ability to walk when you retire? Will the pain become chronic? Will you be able to dress yourself?
Play the devils advocate now & find the answers from your doctor. You only get one back.

He said he was 38 with a mortgage and "skint", so 22 years to 60 which is the traditional age people think about retiring if they can. 68 is a forecasted state pension age based on previously announced age increases (its 67 to end of 2020s so 68 feels very optimistic for us in our 30s). The years are obviously ballpark like any retirement projection but the point surely stands? What is exciting you about that?

You are very lucky i have only ever seen 4,one though was insane, another in court on a serious charge, but the other 2 were pretty normal apart from the odd ultra mad scream or 3 and throwing sticky food everywhere:56:

Yes, they are not 100% dichotomy or distinguishable. Bad health usually consumes wealth and wealthy people do have a better possibility to spend on empowering their health. But of course, in some instances they are polarized: running and stressing your whole life after wealth neglecting the healthy needs causes issues. Life becomes empty - and unhealthy and wealth consuming - when making Health your religion.

I'd try to balance them, but priorizing the health. Rather staying alive than rich, if must be chosen that way. Health is the ground on which we stand, wealth the resource we can utilize in impacting the surroundings.
