    *, that was some rally by Halep, gutted she didn't win it. She's been my favourite women's player over the last few years even though I don't watch their game much but I really wanted her to win this final.

    I don't know anything at all about Stephens but she looks really good. Thought Mugaruza Halep should've been the final till I seen how systematically destroyed she was by Halep.

    This is a brilliant match, definitely deserves the 3rd set. The rallies have been incredible, some test of stamina and tactics, both players playing exceptional shots.

    Halep :notworthy What an incredible player. Her energy, intesity, inventiveness and complete refusal to lose was a joy to watch.

    Stephens is brilliant though and she's definitely much higher than 10th seed if that's just for this tournament or overall, she's going to win a few slams for sure. A fantastic shot maker but she's going to learn a lot from playing against that kind of relentless mental stamina.

    Best women's match I've seen for years. No disrespect to Serena who was obviously by far the best in the game but women's tennis will be much more watchable when she retires as it's going to be so much more competitive and interesting.
