    Another few goals for him.

Seems to be sticking them away for fun just now.

Hope he gets a chance in the team before end of the season, I know there’s a lot of players ahead of him but he just looks a natural born goalscorer who could step up already.

Has he been training this season with the first team? Not seen mention of it.

Would be good to give him a chance even if that is just time in the squad to get used to it.

Dumbarton manager Stephen Aitken is closing on an ambitious loan signing with Celtic’s highly though of striker Jack Aitchison set to join the Sons until January.

The 18 year old boasts the honour of being Celtic’s youngest ever player and goalscorer.; the teenager scored for the club when he was just 16 years and 71 days in a 7-0 win over Motherwell back in May 2016 in what was Ronny Deila’s final game in charge of Celtic. The young striker is set to get game time at the League 1 side after a deal was agreed between the clubs and the player.

Aitken said: “It is not over the line yet however the signs are good that Jack will join us. Everything is in place for what would be a terrific signing for Dumbarton and hopefully we can get it over the line.

CELTIC are set to tie down kid striker Jack Aitchison on a new deal – then farm him out to Dumbarton.

Aitchison – the Hoops’ youngest first team ever scorer – has entered the final year of his contract at Parkhead.

But Celts have been keen to seal an extension and SunSport understands the 18-year-old could put pen to paper before the end of the week.

Part of the agreement is also that the Scotland youth star will be allowed to go out on loan – with a deal to join the Sons until January in the pipeline.

Aitchison wrote his name in the record books when he came off the bench to net against Motherwell in May 2016, when he was just 16 years and 71 days old.

Good move for him, Aitken is a really good manager, done some job with Dumbarton and is only part time. He needs to get used the physicality of first team football, no doubt he has the ability to make it.

Whilst I agree with you in regards to the getting used to physicality etc (which he most definitely will do in League 1), I wouldn't be inclined to agree with Aitken being a really good manager. As someone who is from the area and has attended a good amount of Dumbarton games in the last few seasons, Aitken has fallen rapidly down in the estimations of the majority of the Dumbarton support. Many of the supporters have been questioning how many games they have left until the have to get rid of him.

The way they play football at the moment certainly wouldn't benefit Aitchison imo. They've been playing target man football for some time, and often persevering despite not having the players to do it successfully. Whilst Jack will undoubtedly be better physically for his time at Dumbarton, I'm not particularly confident in Aitken's ability to develop him much as a player.

Why is he in the last year of his contract? That's happening too often now. Still to hear anything with Forrest and the Boyata situation is well documented.
