    I know some folk are disappointed Erik isn't away permanently but it's a lot easier to get shot of players if they're actually getting minutes on the park to show what they can do.

    I'm sure Midtjylland will have an option to buy at the end of the season.

    Agreed I’ve been disappointed with how he’s gone backwards but people were calling for him to replace Brown as captain after about 4 appearances. :56:

    Think he was captain of Midtjylland when he left so he had experience in being a leader on the pitch.

    Pretty sure Sviatchenko was handed the armband a couple of times towards the end of Ronny's last season.

    Tbf Deebo our defence was performing poorly when Erik arrived. He came in and his performances seemed to give the whole team a bit of fight and a lift. I was probably one of those people that sounded him for captaincy. But times change.:50:

    Hopefully a fee agreed beforehand with his old club, and if he does get his slow * into gear then maybe get a bidding war. I’m away to enjoy this unicorn steak.

    Disappointing. And disappointing that many are so dismissive on him. At his best, he has shown that he is the best centre back we have. About a year and half ago he was a very good player. Simunovic and Boyata haven’t shown themselves to be anywhere near being very good.

    If you take all our CBs at top form, he has proven himself to be the best.

    Yeah it’s weird how he’s all of a sudden pish and actually wasn’t that good a year or so ago.

    Up until that game at Ibrox he was solid for us. Both domestically and in Europe. In that game he was dodgy but still made a fantastic tackle in the last few minutes to help us hold on to the win.

    For whatever reason, he’s never recovered from that.

    Can't remember which Celtic player it was who said this (might've been Armstrong) but they were saying Erik was always leaving training rapid once the session was over so he could do his modelling or other business interests he had.

    Maybe BR wasn't too happy with Erik not applying more to his training and improving himself as a player?
