Dodgers bring in Jensen in the 7th... Didnt expect that.

I get that they can't afford for the Astros to get any further ahead if they are to have any chance, and with 9 outs to get at least they do need their very best, and whats what Jensen and Kershaw are, but is it asking too much for 9 outs the night after he had a 2 inning save? Guess we will find out in the next hour or so.

Well, that answered that. Jensen did his job in the 7th, Wood in for the 8th.

    Astros still lead, 5-1.

Was a fantastic WS all round. G2 & most especialy G5 will live long in the memory.

Dodgers had so many chances to get back into this game, leaving so many runners on base and the RISP was really poor tonight.

But the night definitely belongs to Astros.

A pretty decent World Series (not quite as good as last years classic). I'm glad the Astros won.

Just finished watching there. As soon as I saw Yu Darvish step up to the plate at the start I knew that Roberts had taken a gamble.

He had a torrid time in Houston being relieved before the 2nd innings ended there as well.

He should have started with Clayton Kershaw.

Great win for Astros who played well defensively.

Astros win the World Series and they deserve it.

Thats how I saw it also; made a comment in here about it, I think. It's the question that Dave Roberts is going to be answering from fans, press and himself from now until forever. Darvish just put them in such a hole early that LA were always playing from behind from that point on. In a way it made for a slightly anticlimatic conclusion to the Series, but one that the Astros were more than happy to have and to get the job done. And the way that they were able to contain the Dodgers, who definitely had a load of chances to get back into the contest, deserves praise.

I doubt Kershaw would have won to be honest. too much hot and cold when it really matters in the post season. when he came on the game was literally already decided. he's absolutely magnificent in the regular season, but still couldn't prove that he can get it done in the post season as well. (career Regular saison ERA 2.36 vs post season ERA 4.35)

glad the Astros won it. interesting fun fact: Dodgers had the most expensive team this season with a payroll of $265,149,292, whereas the Astros come 15th with $149,964,177.

I get what you are saying, @Vader , although, if Roberts thought that Kershaw would have been good to go for 3 or 4 inning why not start him, and the moment he started getting into trouble, pull him. In G5, that was just an insane game, but he had kept the Astros scoreless for the first 3 inning or so, before the Astros latched onto his slider that he just couldnt control on the night. If his slider had been causing more control command issues in G7 again, he has more than enough with his other stuff that I doubt he would have put them in a 5 run hole within 2 inning.

Yes, I know the 2 runs in the 1st were unearned, but even still, compared with Darvish, who had been battered our of his first start in G3 within 2 inning with the Astros clearly locked in to what he was bringing and looking for something to hit early off of him. Would they have been able to do the same off Kershaw? idk

All things considered, Astros clearly deserved to win. So many contributed, and Springer deservedly MVP

What I will say for myself personally is that I am still getting to grips with stats, pitch types and tactics like that.

I have re-ignited my enjoyment for it again with having access to watch some games. I don't have a favorite team but I felt that I knew the Dodgers team better as they were on BT Sports more than other teams.

I am looking forward to next season already and also looking forward to some good games, along with who will be going where.

Get an account on MLB.com. You can do it without buying a subscription (or if you want, you can buy one, lol... up to you of course, lol, which means access to every single game every single day, or if you are dedicated to one particular team all the time etc). Otherwise there is a free game every day of the regular season and the do rotate all the teams, though the ones from the bigger markets a little less frequently. So long as you are not anticipating getting a Red Sox v Stinkees game, it works for me. I just buy a subscription for the postseason games each year, and living out of the US you get the coverage better than the US subscribers do.

Although if they have games on BT Sports I assume it is 1 per day? So essentially the same as the free game of the day on mlb.tv

Yeah it was one per day on BT Sport which is good enough for me.

I personally don't mind who I watch as I am a fan of the sport and not any particular team.

I did hear in the commentary during that game 7 that the dodgers may be looking into securing the services for Verlander which is interesting.

Roy 'Doc' Halladay killed after a crash in his private jet. Aged 40.

Sad to hear this. He was one of the really elite pitchers when I was watching baseball. 40 is no age to die.

    Nooooooooooooooo!!!

That is a real tragedy, am very sorry to learn of this. A phenomenal pitcher, right to the very end of his career was still one of the very best in the game. Gone way too soon. Stunned.

Crazy. He was the first baseball player I ever really knew living in Canada. Was a huge part of the continued growth of the game when he played in Toronto. So sad to hear of his death. Ultimate professional and epitomized class, gone far to soon.

Can't wait for the regular season to start up again.

Spring training (pre-season) is well underway. Roll on the 29th of March.

Just caught up that Yu Darvish went to the Chicago Cubs.

Good to see the regular season has started again.

I watched a bit of the 8-4 game between Cubs and Marlins, was good.

Also watched Giants win 1-0 at Dodgers stadium, was good as well despite the low score.

My viewing tonight will be Yankees v Blue Jays.
