    Here's one of my favorite Portuguese National Team players from the past, the scrappy Joao Pinto, during his Sporting days, always love to see the Portuguese in hoops...

    Well pal. Cascarino got a fair bit of stick for making some pretty ill informed statements belittling Celtic's domestic record before making even more of fool of himself by admitting he doesn't watch Scottish football. I had assumed you had done the same thing here. However I could be wrong and maybe you watched all of Iran and Panama's qualification games. If that is the case then I apologise.

    CONMEBOL is the toughest. UEFA is the second toughest, but the lower-end European sides usually under-perform in comparison to the lower-end sides from other confederations. Over the last two World Cups, CONCACAF and CONMEBOL have the higest percentages of sending their sides through to the later rounds. Then it's UEFA, then CAF and Asia have often been quite poor. Most of the world thinks that Europeans vastly overrate themselves due to the success of a few sides historically.

    The World Cup has been won by 8 Nations; 5 European sides and 3 South American. The Final has been contested by 12; 9
    European and 3 South American.

    It’s factual to suggest Europe has been the strongest historically.

    One time they should make the qualifiers Worldwide, so it's fully fair. Theres 210 teams so if they took the bottom 60 ranked teams and made them fight for 10 places which they could do during the World Cup or Euros, play their 10 games.

    Then they could have 16 Groups of 10 teams, 18 games.

    Would also just be good to see teams like Lithuania play Panama, Bolivia play Iceland, China play Bosnia and whatever in competitive games to really find out how good or bad teams really are.

    Would be interesting to see who has had benefit and who has been getting robbed due to Geography. Like if 8 South American teams went on to qualify yet they usually only get 5 places or if 20 European teams qualified when they only get 13 places.
