We always seem to struggle this season when he's not in the side. Thoughts?

It's blatant and actually pretty worrying how much we miss him.

It has been the case for years, not just under Rodgers.

Every team will miss their captain, most experienced player and leader. However, he won't be around forever and we shouldn't have to rely on him so much to set the tempo and tone of a game.

Someone else needs to step up and often it doesn't happen.

100% our best player. It's been the case for a few seasons now that we are so much worse off when he doesn't play. Everyone else in the team can be competently replaced to some extent but not broony.

Hope he punches * out of Rogic and Armstrong in the changing room. They'd never have put in a performance like that if he was on the pitch.

    So * lazy.

I know he is an important player for us but I don’t understand how we miss him as much we do. His leadership is huge for us.

Not sure if I am overreacting but no one seems to take on the responsibility when Broony doesn’t play. Too many passengers when Brown is missing. When he is playing he doesn’t let that happen. Brown get the boys fired up.

Maybe it's because he's a top player, playing in arguably the most influential position on the pitch. I don't have a problem with this being the case, you can see it in teams all over the world (e.g. look at how Juventus struggle when Marchisio is injured); but what we need to do is identify Brown's long term replacement and get him signed.

I'm sure BR has the matter in hand.

It's simple, he doesn't allow the effort to drop. There are no periods where players slack off when he plays. I seen Rogic and Sinclair pulling out tackles today. He wouldn't let that go without a word.

A lot of wot happened today was trying to avoid injury which didn't work out well at all .

Broonly has played for every manager replacing the departed one ,says everything really, but if you watch the really good team's in cl against us you will see the special attention payed to him ,it's not easy to work out he is the link /linchpin that makes it all work .

He's a real leader on the pitch. Not the greatest player with ball at feet as we can all admit. But putting fires out all over the place and getting the team right up for it!

    Nope.

Kieran Tierney cares, Lustig cares, Griffiths cares, Paddy Roberts cares etc etc.

Brown just has that something extra. Hate to use this rat as a comparison but much like Miller does with the Huns.

He is our metronome. Sets our tempo, collects and demands the ball in the middle of the pitch and importantly senses danger when a team breaks. When Killie scored their goal, Brown would have been there to break it up or simply take the guy out.

There are certain players who you just don't appreciate fully for whatever reason until they aren't there.
Scott is this type of player.
Just to be clear - I'm not saying we don't totally appreciate him but his contribution is amplified by what happens when he's not there.

He has at times (even this season) taken a bit of stick for performances but his sheer presence can be enough to improve the team & get results.

I don't quite think it was laziness today with Rogic, Armstrong et al (Rogic always plays at that pace, still trying to find the love for him but I just can't, that's another conversation), rather than laziness its someone taking the game by the scruff and dragging the players with him. Perhaps Rodgers patient passing game makes it difficult to easily shift to a higher gear? Brown however, for me is the type of player who'll do that.

    Looking forward to Munich.
