I think that Scott could do with a break. He is not playing at his best at the moment and he looks to be struggling a bit. He is obviously fit as he can last the full 90 but he doesn't seem to be doing as much damage as he did last season.

Always, as soon as someone says something like this, he plays a blinder in the next game. So hat-trick on Saturday. :56:

Of course, just to play devil's advocate, he IS the player who just got a rest with the international break.....

Thought I'd take this to the Sinclair thread, since I was frustrated with him today.

Another one of those performances today, so ineffective. Been saying for yonks that he needs to go wide more often and run at full backs.

    Aye its a bit frustrating.

I know it is evidently part of the tactics but I feel if he stayed wide and isolated full backs more often we'd see even more from him. He has all the ability to tear people to bits up here time and time again.

Coming central so often makes it easier for him to be nullified and as I said, also makes it easier for teams to nullify Tierney in return.

Times today he was playing almost like a centre mid!

I don't think he's been at the races for most of the season.

Might be due to the opposition starting to double up on him more and get tighter, or cottoning on to the fact that more times than none he cuts inside onto his right.

I dunno, maybe it's just the dreaded "2nd season syndrome".

Central areas are hard to navigate, it's the type of voids a David Silva, a Paddy Roberts can navigate nicely. Sinclair just doesn't have the skill set.

Sinclair will continue to score goals playing this way, especially at this level, but he is actually quite ineffective. It's weird to say that, and I fully expect folk to say but he's scored X amount playing this way, but that really disguises the fact, IMO.

You never (or very rarely) see Sinclair in these areas playing a Paddy Roberts reverse pass, intricate link up, silky touches - He's like a wide Gary Hooper, capable of nice moves, but generally a finisher. And that's good enough for us, he will win us games domestically playing this way.

We have all seen what he can do wide, I continually point to the cup game vs Motherwell eaaaarly last season, that's the Sinclair I want to see more of.

Mate, for me this is a continuation of last season.

Ineffective, but scoring goals. Which makes it hard to complain.

    Consistent goal scorer, inconsistent winger.

He creates and scores so much though, I'd still say he's our best player overall.

Did nothing today. He's so predictable now to defenders if he has no space to use his pace

In the very final phase, the last two-three touches before the ball hits the net, maybe.

Other than that though you have Brown dominating midfield's, Tierney defending and bombing forward, Roberts skinning defenders and playing cutting through balls (maybe not as muchthis season..), Armstrong doing everything, McGregor doing everything but adding composure and guile, Griff doing what he does..

Sinclair scores goals, but does he really do enough to have him the "best" over what others do? No for me, definitely not.

For me he still is, like not going into specific attributes and positions etc, if you have to answer "who is Celtic's best player?" for me it's still Sinclair.

Think he just needs a couple of goals to get himself going again.

Have no real basis, other than my own opinion, to argue that.

This is something I have been debating since his first 5-6 games at the club. Might be nitpicking by some, but his all round performances have disappointed me on many occasions.

He is, always, our #2 (often #1) goal threat after our sole striker (Dembele/Griff), but for me he has a skill set that during games would be useful on the outside burning poor SPL right backs. I want to see more of that.

SCOTT BROWN SCOTT BROWN HE'S THE LEADER OF THE CELTIC
When he plays well, Celtic play well. We’ve been winning but we haven’t been totally dominating and breezing forward like we used to earlier in the season and last season. He makes us click.

He’s always played better with Dembélé, maybe that’s why?
