Changed the game when he came on, thought for the time he was in the park he was brilliant.

CM: "It was a good ball, I was trying to slip Scott back in but it took a ricochet & I got it at my feet and managed to finish it."

CM: "There were another 4 or 5 that would maybe have fallen for us on a better day, but you’ve got to credit St Johnstone as well."

CM: "They’re always a tough test for us, no matter whether we go there or they come here. Especially off the back of a long travel."

CM: "The #UCLdraw was great, we’ll be looking forward to those game. But coming back to today, it’s these games that get you there."

CM: "We weren’t at our best but we managed pick up a point."

CALLUM McGregor praised Celtic’s character after the Hoops fought back to extend their domestic unbeaten run to 53 games. The Bhoys showed resilience and experience in equal measure as they broke down a stubborn St Johnstone defence to secure a 1-1 draw.

St Johnstone were gifted a goal in the 39th minute after Liam Craig and Steven MacLean capitalised on a defensive lapse, but McGregor secured a point for the Hoops after coming off the bench in the second-half to level the scoring with a well-placed shot into the bottom right corner with 11 minutes remaining at Paradise.

Speaking to the media after the match, McGregor described scoring his second league goal of the season as “a relief”.

He said: “We weren’t at our best but we managed pick up a point. When you get that first one, quite often you go and get the second, but I just felt like we had a wee bit of bad luck in terms of the ball falling to us and we never quite got there, But I think it shows good character for us to come back.

“We weren’t quite on it in the first half but in the second half we put everything into the game and thankfully we got a point. When you’re chasing the game you’re always believing you can go and get something from the game.

“It was a good ball from Scott Sinclair. I was trying to slip him back in but it took a ricochet and I got it at my feet and managed to finish it. As I say, there were another four or five chances that would maybe have fallen for us on a better day, but you’ve also got to credit St Johnstone because they defended really well.

"Tommy Wright always sets up his team well when they come here and it’s always a difficult game.”

Strachan is such a bitter, stubborn old * that he'd pick a cardboard cut out of Craig Burley instead of McGregor now.

James Morrison has been called up to replace the injured Tom Cairney as Callum is overlooked again

He was never going to pick him, he's a stubborn * who's time is long since up.

Mcgregor shouldn't just be making the squad as a replacement anyway, he should be straight into the starting line up.

McGregor is always popping up with important goals these days, he has really applied himself under Brendan and is far more influential and consistent than say Forrest.

We could have lost that game 2-0 except for McGregor.

Strachan is a stubborn wee *, he'll be lucky to play a game for Scotland with him as Manager now.

He will stick to his guns, whether right or wrong.

Strahans motivation for not picking him is most likely born out of hearing Pundits and journos talking about how McGregor is a a shoe in/must pick for Scotland squads.

I don't mind that McGregor hasn't been picked for Scotland. It might have been nice for him, but from a Celtic point of view, I'd far rather he stay home, put his feet up, and rest for a few days; and not risk picking up an injury.
