    Think it's in our favour big time that he wants to be here ,it kinda poses a problem for city regards getting the best deal on paddy.
    If other teams come in for him and offer more and he says no to them they are kinda left with a player they will not use unless they take wot we can afford ,if we get him at a good price because he has 1 clubbed them , I can see him getting a wee sign on fee for helping .
    So much gamesmanship in these deals and we can't say lawwell is not a master at getting the best deal ,can now see this going to the last moments and a Mexican stand off ,battle of nerves ,wotever ,if it's a year loan ,its because they want more than we can offer ,and maybe more clubs will come in after, that may sway him putting him in the cI shop window .

    CELTIC’S Kieran Tierney hopes Patrick Roberts can help the Parkhead side to Champions League glory as they discovered their European fate.

    The Hoops have mouth-watering ties ahead of them as they were drawn against PSG, Bayern Munich and Anderlecht in Group B.

    The fan favourite is hopeful his good friend Roberts can steer the Hoops towards success in the competition.

    And rumours have surfaced that Roberts could be officially announced tomorrow as club chiefs have reportedly asked for stewarding around Parkhead at 3pm.

    He said: “I hope so, there’s obviously been a lot of speculation but nothing’s done yet, but I hope he is.

    “I’ve been speaking to him and there’s obviously been a lot of jokes on social media which we send to each other which is good, it’s funny but yeah I hope he is.”

    Why though they have nothing to lose. He's never going to be given a chance there, he wants to come back and we want him back and Champions league qualification was pretty much a given a week and a half ago. Signs do point to city yes,but we've got a lot of previous when it comes to dragging deals out

    * knows. If it's a permanent deal City will want every penny they can get for him since UEFA are watching them again regarding FFP. If it's a loan well it's clear they would rather he went elsewhere on loan as was the case with Jason Denayer.

    We can't just give Man City £12m for Roberts because they value him at that and because we can afford it. As Fergus McCann once said, I'm not willing to spend £10m on a £5m player just because we have the money to do so.
