I honestly think that one of Rodgers biggest misstakes from last season(although there were very few of them) was to start Forrest over Paddy in the CL group stage games

Great news the wee man is coming back. If its true according to some that there is an option to buy then it is a very good deal. The wee man is special.

Forrest started the season very well though and there may have been a bit of Forrest is an actual Celtic player going on..

Forrest was excellent v Astana btw, but aye there's no doubt Paddy is on another level..

Right, give us Man City in the last 16. See how things differ from last time around. Only two guys on there that seem to have any clue what's going on.

Girona?! Did they not just get promoted? Yes, getting pumped week in week out is definitely good for his progression.

The arrogance oozing out of them is embarassing. No wonder coming to a huge club (far bigger than their own) who also compete in the champions league, as well as win trophies, are a bigger draw than a season with mid table cannon fodder like Southampton, where players have one good season and throw in transfer requests.

Unbeaten treble + champions league football, or celebrate a 12th place finish wildly.... wonder why he wanted to come here.

    Welcome home paddy bhoy.

Pep is at city for the money, Brendan is at Celtic because he loves the club.

Yeah it is mate, but i'm pretty sure Brendan could've earned more elswhere tbh, obviously to get someone of his calibre you gotta pay the big bucks, right now he looks like a real bargain ?

Nah I agree. Was only teasing really, £45k for a man of his quality is nothing.

He is a world class coach, make no mistake about it. You get exactly what you pay for and he has paid back his wage for the entire length of his contract with back to back CL qualifications (it looks like).

Plus its coming right oot of Desmond's back pocket which is nice.

Without a word of a lie mate, i was just about to post this lol.

Even if Brendan was on 5 mil a year, he would still be a bargain imo, what he has achieved already has been nothing short phenominal, i've not been this happy since Martin was in charge.

PATRICK ROBERTS forced through the loan switch back to Celtic that will be completed within days.

SunSport can reveal Manchester City put late pressure on the wing sensation to head for Nice, Girona or Southampton.

The English giants are still unconvinced by the value of him playing in Scotland’s top flight again.

But the fans’ favourite had set his heart on a second stint at Parkhead, as we revealed on August 8.

Roberts again told City director of football Txiki Begiristain this week that if he wasn’t wanted by boss Pep Guardiola this season then HE would decide which club he’d join — and that he wasn’t interested in the options suggested by the Etihad outfit.

Roberts, 20, had been overwhelmed by messages from Celts fans desperate to see him back after his 18-month loan spell.

Now Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers expects to clinch a season-long agreement, possibly even before Tuesday’s Champions League trip to Astana.

It’s understood the Hoops have agreed to pay a seven-figure loan fee and meet an even greater portion of the England youth star’s hefty wages.

SunSport also believes they are trying to persuade Blues chiefs to give them an option of signing the Roberts PERMANENTLY next summer.

Asked if there had been movement on a deal, Rodgers teased: “There is, but it’s always private. We’ll see.”
