Yes he will bring him to a new level. Will that level be above what we have? Nope. I say give him a season at hibs and if he's a massive standout over the entire league then pay the extra. We're after real qaulity not another Scott Allan.

Peter Lawell has said our transfer policy is still the same ie buying players to develop,John Mcginn could be developed into a very good player imo, like I said though don't think he is needed right now,I think Brendan wants a playmaker, which McGinn is not.

Can't see him getting a game unless Brown is injured or needs a rest.
Not fussed on this one but if BR wants him then I'm all for it.

Not the same type of player to start with, McGinn will run all day and not shy away from a tackle, good left peg on him as well. Much better technically at that age than Broony was. Rodgers would make McGinn a cracking player.

Not thinking its worthwhile aside, I don't even think there's actual interest in our part.

Hasn't it all been taken from BR when asked saying he's the type of player managers would love to have. He'll go down south IMO.

Anybody not wanting to sign McGinn must be off their chomp. He is the new Scott Brown turbo charged.

Buy him and loan him back, and let him play against us.

I agree with the buy/loan thing but I would not let him play against us. Sections of our crowd booed Larsson when he scored against us ffs :56:

CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has a decision to make over moving for John McGinn – after Ipswich Town put in an opening offer for the Hibs midfielder.

Express Sport revealed last month that Rodgers was keen on the Scotland cap.

Ipswich’s opening bid of £1.2million was rejected by the Easter Road club, but Tractor Boys boss Mick McCarthy is set to up his offer for the in-demand 22-year-old.

Rodgers likes McGinn but is top heavy with midfielders, although Scott Allan and Ryan Christie have gone out on loan to Dundee and Aberdeen, respectively.

The Celtic manager has talked openly about his admiration for McGinn, and views him as a possible long-term replacement to his captain Scott Brown.

Hibs want top dollar for McGinn but could consider a deal, with Liam Henderson returning to Easter Road for a second loan stint.

Rodgers will be forced into a decision if Ipswich hit McGinn’s valuation and open talks to take him to the English Championship.

Ipswich have already signed Joe Garner in a £1m-plus deal from Rangers.

There is also a strong possibility of further interest from England.

Just not sure we need him tbh. With guys like Brown, Armstrong, McGregor, Eboue, we need to build on that with experience rather than youth. Christie and Allan out on loan, and guys like Henderson and Bitton available as well.

I'd have a punt at just over a million. There's allsorts of development left in him IMO.

It would be a squad signing initially right enough and we've been told those types ain't happening.

If we were to shift Bitton and loan out Henderson then I'd have a punt on McGinn.

Can't believe he hasn't got a decent move yet. If we don't sign him we will regret it.

Personally I've always rated Henderson, so signing McGinn would be pointless imo. They are both different players but at the end of it, on their day they both have similar impacts on the game and have room to grow, I just don't see why adding McGinn would be very beneficial for us. I like him, but don't really rate him better than Hendo.

Think Hibs just want to push the price up and get the boy's name in the papers.
