    CELTIC’S first signing of the summer will be looking forward to one fixture in particular. Irish internationalist Jonny Hayes signed for the Hoops last weekend and trained with his new team-mates for the first-time on Thursday.

    And the 29-year-old will return to his former club, Aberdeen, on October 25 when Brendan Rodgers’ side travel to Pittodrie for the first clash of the season between Scotland’s top two sides.

    Speaking to the official Celtic website after he became a Celt, Jonny Hayes said: “It’s a fixture I’ll look out for. I spoke to the chairman at Aberdeen a few days ago about looking forward to going back and how I wish them all the best and that everything goes through with the new stadium.

    “So it will be the first fixture I look forward to, particularly going back to Pittodrie. Obviously I’m very fond of Aberdeen and I’ll look forward to it.”

    Derek McInnes will bring his team to Paradise on December 23 while there is another game between the sides at Pittodrie on February 24 next year. Last season the Dons finished runners-up to Celtic in all three domestic competitions.

    Good opening fixture and run in up to ibrox looks straight forward tbh should be a belter going into it unbeaten imo that will happen

    * workig all games v them raging off the 23rd because of a holiday but 30th I'm back at work

    I doubt the game on the 30th will change. Don't have much option with regards to other dates. Police kicked up a stink over the 31st and will do so again.

    On a personal note, my mates wedding is on the 30th. Won't see the game as the service is at 1pm, however on the upside. It's a half huns and half tims affair, which should make for a good night.

    Good fixture to kick off with at home to the Jambos

    I think either Sunday or Saturday early kick off premiership down south doesn't start for a few weeks later I'm sure anyway so no reason to change to Sunday
