    As much as I'd love to see a club stick to their guns and make players honour their contract, I hope this isn't one of those times!

    Easy to understand their stance with Liverpool, this must have happened before, probably numerous times.

    They should sell him elsewhere or make Liverpool pay through their teeth. £££

    Aye it smacks of a bit of that. It would hold weight if they hadn't sold half a team to Liverpool over the last few year's..

    It also makes me think someone is making a few quid from the special relationship these 2 have in recent year's. Liverpool is a massive club but from Virgil's point of view I can't see why he'd pick them over Man City or Chelsea currently...... If all have expressed a definite interest. Whatever anyone thinks there is a reason the best player's in the world aren't rocking up to Anfield these day's..

    You also have to laugh at Southampton fan's bleating about raking in the world's highest transfer for a centre back when I remember they were scoffing at 12 mill for an Spl player..

    Was thinking that myself btw.

    Liverpool are big, granted. But they're not really doing much on the big stage. The Manchester clubs and Chelsea will leave them well behind in this window. And they're nowhere near the standard of Barca, Real, Juve or Bayern.

    It's a better move than Southampton but it'll be frustrating for him.
