    Racist who filmed himself chanting abuse at Scott Sinclair admits guilt

    Robert Anderson, 27, appeared in the dock from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.

    A racist yob who filmed himself chanting vile abuse about Celtic star Scott Sinclair has admitted his guilt.

    Robert Anderson, 27, appeared in the dock from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.

    Mobile phone footage of Anderson chanting as he walked through a Glasgow pub about the Hoops winger was uploaded to the internet and went viral.

    He is seen and heard shouting at Scott Sinclair at McChuill’s pub on Glasgow’s High Street.

    Anderson has now admitted a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner on May 21 by “repeatedly uttering an abusive, sectarian and racial remark and did record yourself repeatedly uttering said remark with a mobile phone”.

    The charge Anderson, from Tollcross, Glasgow, admitted has a religious prejudice and racial aggravation.

    Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill said “given the nature of the charge and aggravations” she was going to call for reports before sentencing.

    No narration of the facts was heard in the court.

    Defence lawyer David Tod (correct) requested that when the case next calls, that Anderson’s police interview played inc ourt.

    Mr Tod said: “Somebody other than him put this on social media.

    “He (Anderson) then contacted me and asked me to contact the police.

    “I contacted the police to let them know who they were looking for and indicated he wanted to speak to them.

    “He made full and frank admissions and gave a number of details about his attitude, how he expected people to feel.”

    The lawyer added “none of that is in the police summary.”

    Sentence was deferred until a later date and Anderson - who has resigned from his job - was granted bail.

    The sheriff asked for the Crown to get the police interview disc.

    Since the footage was seen widely online, it has been reported Anderson is now barred McChuill’s bar.
