Some scumbags have basically shutdown the NHS from this morning especially NHS England by attacking the computer systems.
Doctor's surgeries were also affected meaning patients records not being accessed which meant wholesale cancellation of appointments.
    Hospital systems were affected.
If anyone suffered because of this ransom demand by these * then they should be charge with attempted murder or murder depending on what happens.
Scumbag hacker * should have their * heads kicked in. :47::47::47::47:

Crazy that so much of the UK's health service is using Windows XP systems that literally can't have seen a security update in years as it's a discontinued OS. Basically begging to be hacked, utterly negligent.

It's probably the Tory government anyway. They'll use it as another excuse to lead it towards privatisation...

For $300 too. Why would you hit such a large organisation for such a small amount of Bitcoins?

Hard copies of patients records should always be readily available.

They'd need bigger hospitals to store all that :56: imagine the millions upon millions of files. That takes alot of space.

    Aye true.

I remember my Granda telling me when he was 15 years old back in 1954 he had to get an operation to practically save his life.

They couldn't find the paper records and without the internet he would have died.

Very lucky man. Imagine it had been 20 years later when the power cuts were happening??
This would have been an old RIP thread.

This was part of the review for the NHS from 2013

    Data security

In addition, the review looked at security around data sharing and storage, finding that cyber security needed more consideration as systems become fully digital.

However, it notes that many historical information breaches related to paper-based information or old technologies such as faxes, and so might be addressed automatically when systems were digitised.

The review recommends stronger, but simpler and more understandable, data and cyber security standards, saying that data controllers were “confused by the plethora” of standards and good practice principles available.

It sets out 10 security standards for organisations handling personal confidential information based on people, processes and technology, all of which, the review says, demand strong leadership.

These include ensuring that all staff have proper data security training, that systems are properly certified and processes regularly reviewed, and that IT suppliers are held accountable for protecting data they process.

    None of it was done.

The Cybermen are returning this season, as they're Capaldi's favourite monsters.

My grandad has been diagnosed with cancer and they had to cancel one of his treatment episodes the other day due to these hacks. They're also saying they could be losing all the records to his cancer diagnosis depending on whether they decide to delete the files or not. I'd imagine it's the same for thousands of innocent people around the country who these hacks are negatively affecting. The sick * should be hung, drawn and quartered.
