Can Brown appeal and play in Scottish Cup Semi?

That's a red card every day of the week. It doesn't really have a bearing on this though. All it suggests is that the referee is highly inconsistent. Something we've had issues with for years.

 

Aye but we still don't know if Celtic CAN appeal it. I doubt Gerry McCulloch does either.

 

BR: The referee lost control in the last period of the game which led to that situation and the sending off, it was very poor officiating.

If it was Boyce on Brown and a yellow was given along with a free kick then I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

It's aggressive and late but I wouldn't call it malicious or dangerous.

 

Wasn't high, didn't lead with his studs, wasn't two footed. What makes it a red?

 

Can't believe some people in here are defending the refs decision to give Brown a red for that tackle.It was a yellow all day long.If refs were to give red cards for tackles like that every game of football would finish with 10 men left on park or game would get abandoned as i think 6 is the most they can dish out.

Read my post,never said i was happy he was banned.I said he got what he deserved for a silly tackle.

 

I'm under the impression any red card can be appealed, no matter the circumstances.

Yellows/second yellows can't (unless mistaken identity), but reds can. I think.

 

Outta curiosity when was the last time an opposition player was sent off against us? I can't remember...

Jim O'Brien done Tierney about 10 minutes before, actually went through Tierneys standing leg and only got booked.

 

If we can appeal it we should and play the system..

 

Hope to * we appeal it, probably was a red but all happened because of a cheating * giving a handy peno, and then Brown getting taking out of it twice after it and he reacted, honestly can't blame him. Fair play to big Jozo after the red * one of their cheating * on the floor!!

 

The replays show that the contact wasn't as bad as it first appeared. However , in normal time the sheer pace and aggression Brown throws into the tackle(coupled with the fact he is very very late) makes it look horrendous. My first reaction was straight red so can't be too upset with the decision .

Grounds for an appeal though.

 

Last one I can remember off the top of my head was Senderos in the 5-1 game. Typical SFA, even when they send off our opponents they get an advantage.

 

I hope you, and Gerry McCulloch, are right.

 

I have full confidence we can and will appeal. Brown will be available next week.
