The Americans are at it here,a step too far attacking an airfield they knew that there would be Russian personnel. No doubt the Tories will drag us in for the ride too.

Assad had the rebels on the run, was beating ISIS, had slowed down the calls for regime change from the West and was even winning outside Syria.

Only thing that could have hindered the progress that Assad had made would be an attack against his own citizens. Amazing that happened.

Trump has fallen for the ruse.

There is a trigger happy aspect to this. No attempt has been made to try and verify who did this. Trump has assumed guilt and very quickly decided to bomb. Syria is a complicated arena and Trump is the bull in the china shop. This is a bad sign of things likely to come.

I can't say I'm surprised that the Americans have responded this way.

Interesting that only 23 of the 59 Tomahawks hit the airfield, we're constantly told that guided missiles can hit a window-sized target thousands of clicks away. Perhaps they were aimed elsewhere.

Best case scenario now is that Trump strikes and gets the * out. I don't think this is spelling war in the way a lot of people thinks it is. Obama facilitated over 7000 air strikes in Syria since 2014, these things are quite common. What the big deal with this is that "Putin's puppy" has gone and attacked Putin's ally. Now, I don't expect all those who claimed Trump to be Putin's lapdog to come out and admit they were wrong, but I think it's clear now that Trump is very much on the side of the U.S. and nobody else (except maybe Israel).

I think and hope this was just a strategic move(although a dumb one).

Btw before the airstrikes Jihadi rebels started three parallel offensives\attacks in a couple o days(Latakia,Northern Hama and Daraa). Isis also attacking Syrian Army units after the missile strikes, not far away from the targeted air base. Last time US hit SAA troops in Deir ez Zor, "accidentally" killing around 100 soldiers, Isis captured some points there.

    Isis attacking Syrian Army:

Look at this guys last tweets, guy is a reliable jihadi source(compared to many other totally unreliable ones):
    https://mobile.twitter.com/qalaatalmudiq?lang=de

Jihadists captured Maardas and Iskandariyah in Northern Hama at the same day of the alleged chemical attack for example. The jihadi attacks in Latakia were also prepared and posted in March from goverment sources.

Peter Ford among other important points, points out to the BBC that the Jihadists have just been given Carte Blanche to commit False Flags.

Isnt it funny that that the Syrian army with their backs to the wall and surrounded by thousands of ISIS madmen in places like Der Azour where there are also 100k civilians to protect, never ever use chemical weapons.

Naw, they save them to launch on a bunch of kids living a place of little strategic value, and risk complete isolation from its allies and the entire international community in so doing.

The Syrian Government never has and never will use chemical weapons, especially on its own people.
