Call of Duty: WWII

I was just going to put this in the General Chat thread at first, but it seems like it's worthy of its own thread.

The same source was apparently leaked last year's Infinte Warfare, a YouTube channel called "TheFamilyVideoGamers" has posted a video featuring images and covers for what is apparently the next COD game - Call of Duty: WWII

Sledgehammer Games, the team behind Advanced Warfare, are developing this year's iteration. Activision, have previously stated that COD 2017 will take "Call of Duty back to its roots"

 

Finally. Not even played the last one, it looked that bad. Hopefully the story mode can match waw.

Do you still get a lot of hackers in the new one ?

 

CoD died many years ago.

 

Really hope this is legit. Haven't played COD in about 4 years because of the futuristic pish.

COD needs a game like this.

 

Hadnt Bought cod since black ops 2. And even then I hadnt bothered with a few of them. The franchise is a blatant cash cow and they don't actually do much to warrant the high price tag every single year.

Bought infinite warfare/mwr recently purely for mwr, massive regret the moment I tried IF for one game.


Glad they are going back to (hopefully) a sensible route. Screams like copying dice and battlefield. But hopefully they learn from that as well and start listening to the fans/consumer and actually doing the right things some times.


That said, I will definetely not be getting this on release. Will be waiting at least a month till first impressions are in and we know how bad/good it is.

 

This with a WAW Remaster would be wankworthy. Please make it happen Sledgehammer.

I'd only get it if they made a single player campaign that couldn't be completed in like 12 hours as seems to be the trend.

 

12 would be nice. Some you are lucky if it lasts half that.

 

I stopped playing infinite warfare, thought it was very boring, same * all the way through it once they are on the ship and doing the missions, they all seem the same. Glad I didn't buy it and only downloaded it.

 

They should easily make a good in depth campaign, doing different stories like Battlefield 1 and WAW. Multiplayer should be straight forward, just have balanced guns and good maps.

 

True but don't underestimate the importance of single player campaigns. Titanfall was getting stick from all angles because it didn't have one. And it was probably a big reason in Titanfall quickly becoming sort of irrelevant.

A good campaign is what I look for in games anyway.

 

For me games should always be primarily about a good single player experience, I get the importance of online and everything but I don't like the idea of ditching the whole historical basis of gaming, a solid narrative to get invested in.

 

Havent completed a campaign since MW2. Would be all over a WW2 one though.

 

Sounds good, I do like the older styled games, although tbh I actually enjoyed the last COD game, I'm not a big fan of the futuristic stuff, but didn't think it was way too bad with all the stuff.

Loved Battlefield 1 with it's mini stories, so good to see a return to the old.

 

Activision have now confirmed that this will be the next COD game, and have posted a countdown to the proper reveal on the official site (link).
