When I feel a sneeze coming on but it doesn't quite happen, visualising the word 'Ekstraklasa' can help get it across the line.

I hope you don't cover your nose when this sneeze explodes amongst those present, that would be Ekstraklasa :RedFinger

Sounds like Jesus invented the fish supper if they were just breaded. But if he just turned it into a whole loaf then probably only invented the chip butty. That must be why you can only eat fish on Frydays. o_O

just saying what i heard mate, i know a guy who went to school with jesus' cousin and he said jesus
    wasn't even that religeous.
he did love his da though so felt undr pressure to commit miracles of a miraculaous nature but was
always upstaged by a walking fish who would often sit on the seashore puffing on a fat cigar.
    jesus was not happy.
the other fish called him unhappy jesus.

Napoleon invaded Egypt and Syria. Never knew as I don't know much about the man.

@Los Palmas 7 :56: * is quite an impressive da.

@Aidan O'Shea I think Napoleon was quite a madman just always up for a fight, I'm sure he tried to invade Russia, like lots of people have but like them he also got chased.

John McCain will sort them out though....

In 1956 the Hungarian's staged a revolution against the oppressive communist regime. At the time, this was the flag of Hungary:

The official flag of the revolution was then to be this:

They removed the Communist coat of arms as a mark of defiance. This too was adopted by Romanian revolutionaries fighting to repel the same Communist regimes.

78,000 Moroccan volunteers fought for Franco in the Spanish civil war. To give context, the International brigades on the Republic's side mustered up around 40,000 volunteers from around the world.

From Ireland, around 7000 volunteered (700 were picked) to fight for Franco after being encouraged to do so by the Church and Eoin O'Duffy, whereas around 300 Irish men fought on the side of the Republic. Upon returning to Ireland, those who fought for the Republic were treated as pariah's for their involvement in the war.

Many people from around the world seen the civil war as a battle between Christianity and Atheistic Communism. Because of this, Franco drew support from all around the world wherever a Christian population existed. Argentina, Cuba and Brazil all had sizeable units in the nationalist International brigades.

All in all, it is said that the International Brigades on Franco's side was four times bigger than the International Brigade fighting for the Republic.

What's also unique about the Spanish civil war was how many artists got involved, either by pledging support for either side or actually fighting. Ezra Pound, J.R.R. Tolkien, Salvador Dali, Percy Wyndham Lewis, D.H. Lawrence, Roy Campbell, Evelyn Waugh, Pedro Munoz Seca, Charles Lindbergh, William Randolph Hearst, Joseph Kennedy (JFK's father), W.B. Yeats and Edmund Blunden were some notable names who pledged support for Franco. The Republic boasted support from George Orwell, Federico Garcia Lorca, Arthur Koestler, Andre Malraux, John Dos Passos, Emma Goldman, Pedro Abad Santos, Tristan Tzara, W.H. Auden, Nancy Cunard, Ernest Hemingway and Pablo Picasso.

I've been a selfish * and not visited family members for far too long, went to see my wee gran today and was shocked at how old she's looking since the last time i bothered my * to go see her.

The world doesn't evolve around you, life's too short, let loved ones know you love them.

Imagine being the 2nd or 3rd generation on that ship. Living 70 years where there is no new technology. No new entertainment. No past memories. No future dreams. Just living and surviving and doing a job.

Exactly, life is too short to waste time on family...get out there and live it!!

Wait.... Wrong side? Nah know what you mean, always feel terrible at how little I see my grans, though feel 100× better when you do see them. Must do it more myself.
