Given the concerns about Hampden's contiuing viability I wonder if this application is part of the process which sees Celtic Park eventually replacing it as the national stadium...

Look how long the standing section took, glasgow council could take years to give this the green light.....but it would be brilliant next step for the club and the surrounding area.

Everyone seems to be forgetting about the discussions that are going on about the European League because of what the "Big Clubs" are trying to do with the CL.
Having a bigger capacity would work with having better more illustrious clubs coming to Celtic Park.
The stadium would probably be packed out every home match.
    As would the hotel.

Just done some figures based on a 300 bedroom hotel.
can change down by the actual amount of rooms.
Would bring in about £10m profit a year after staff wages and costs.
    Or £3.5m for 100 bedroom
In other words it would take about 4 or 5 years to break even after completion.

celtic your favourites in green .... present day.. let the people sing
when this happens , I agree with everything that's been said on here . I just hope that If treat myself and the mrs . to a night there on a match day , that the wee lassie who cleans my room isn't on 6 quid an hour
if we can spend the money to build this , surely the people who staff it will get at least the living wage . I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra to make this happen

I remember reading that Fergus saved a million quid by installing the pillars rather than a cantilever system.

I'm not sure how much it would cost now , but I'd love us to remove the pillars and do this now if viable, thus removing the restricted viewing.

How did you manage that without knowing about any direct costs, how much it would cost to build in the first instance, demand for using the place or the most important thing - how much are they going to charge to stay there?

The club won't even fully understand the majority of those things yet, they've only got drawings done up and submitted a Planning Application. We won't even have carried out a detailed feasibility study yet.

We only get 50k for CL and rangers games......more seats would be a waste of time.

If that's the case any Feasibility Study would be out of date.

No point finding out if people want a Hotel if there's no chance of receiving Planning Permission. There will be a consultation of sorts once it's clear the Application will get through.

Another couple of good pubs would be a good addition too (if profitable), even if they are only open on match days. The city centre and the Gallowgate are a bit too far away and there aren't many decent pubs near the stadium.

If you go to one of the pubs near Celtic Park before a European game the bar can be five deep.
