Don't think I've ever been this excited over a movie.

I thought the first one was average at best. Actually like the look of the new one though.

I've only seen it once and although I enjoyed it, I can't help but feel it's ridiculously overrated.

If you loved the first then you'll love the second. Story continues on and the music is great. Good big swipe at the Huns. 8 outta 10.:60:

I'm desperate to see it. It'll be next week before I get the chance.

Was really good - much MUCH better than expected.

Very different style than the first movie. For me, it had to be though as I reckon they'd have fallen flat on their faces if they'd tried to go toe-to-toe with T1 as a cultural piece.

Trainspotting was truly a 'once-in-a-lifetime' movie. Boyles masterpiece.

So T2 stands on its own 2 feet as a solid bit of film-making, and a genuinely enjoyable catch-up of where the characters are now.

Hope I'm still around to see T3 in 2037.

Oh, and the scene in the loyalist pub. :56:

I'm almost scared to see it.I pretend some sequels never existed so that it doesn't ruin the story.

Don't be... it's very much it's own film - and it's very healthy for it too!

In any case, it could have been the biggest load of baws, but NOTHING would have taken away from the first movie. It's too good.

Just go in with an open mind and enjoy it for what it is... a well made film that's far better than it has any right to be!

You must have expected too much Al. Or you weren't in the frame of mind to see it. I thought it was very well done and the story is good. Loosely the story is based on the book but all the situations are placed differently. If that makes sense. Definitely an 8 outta 10. And I watch a lot and am usually quiet demanding from movies.

Maybe when I watch it again I will be a bit kinder. Nothing wrong with it just thought it was pretty average and I quite like most of Danny Boyle's other stuff as well.

Seen it today and i thought it was superb! The first Trainspotting meant a lot to me personally, was a bit apprehensive about T2 but it never let me down. Goosebumps throughout it. Danny Boyle is a genius!

A brilliant piece of film making. It is fantastic and the undercurrents and storyline is remarkable.

Most sequels are garbage, this isn't so much a sequel but a movie standing on its own even for those who have never seen Trainspotting.

The scene where they lay bare the stupidity and gullibility of the typical Scottish Sevconian and lodge attending animal is absolutely tremendous. They take the utter * out of them in the space of six minutes which will be seen worldwide in the movie of the year.

I watched this in Nottingham tonight with a Scottish friend and we were * ourselves from the opening bars of Penny Arcade till the end of the scene, the rest of the cinema was silent until they realised what was going on.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were Sevconian and Orange protests and fisticuffs at cinemas in Scotland once the daft ignorant * figure out they are being completely ripped to pieces.

I don't think they'll realise they're getting the * ripped out of them.
