I watched "This is How I live now". It has Saorsie Ronan in it (who I'm a massive fan of). I thought it was decent but nothing brilliant. Maybe a 6/10.

Far too formulaic for my liking, could plot out what was going to happen two or three scenes ahead.

The misanthropic alcoholic writer redeemed it a bit though, he was good.

Saw Doom with Dwayne "The *" Johnson on Netflix earlier, based on the game series. Just saw it and thought * it, I'll watch it to see how * it is. It was surprisingly enjoyable, although it's nothing like the games. Just a stupid sci-fi action type film, but I'll take that any day of the week.

Near perfect ; I haven't seen a film that engrossing in many years. A lot of lessons in there and I am not ashamed to say alot of tears aswell. Penn is on another level.

I read that they got the inspiration for Simple Jack and the "*" quote in Tropic Thunder from this movie.

Just watched a film called 'The Captive'

Ryan Reynolds leaves his daughter 9/10 year old daughter in the car to pop in to the shops, comes back and his daughter has been abducted.

Turns out she's being held captive by a member of paedophile ring and is being used to catfish other young girls her age online via webcam.

Been thinking about it since it went off, that someone, somewhere in the world is likely in a situation like that.

Disturbing to watch but one of the best films i've seen in a number of years, i'd highly recommend it.

Watched Now You See Me 1&2 last night. Decent enough, though a bit far fetched at times. None of the stuff they do is ever explained so that kinda annoyed me, I need a element of realism to a movie like that.

Then watched Lights Out, decent horror, probably the best I've watched in a while a few bits creeped me. Usual plotholes all over, being a horror but I can live with that.

Watched What We Did On Our Holiday yesterday, with David Tennant, Rosamund Pike and Billy Connolly. I don't usually watch these types of films but I loved it - it's a drama abbout this divorced couple and their kids going up to their dying grandad's birthday party and trying to keep their divorce a secret so as not to ruin his last days. That's the basic premise but it's much more than that and it's a film that deals with serious issues like death and divorce but does so in a funny, heartwarming way and is one that constantly leaves you with a smile on your face. Highly recommended.
