His first half performance was sensational. They just could not get near him.On a pitch full of superstars, he was the standout.

First 30 mins he was excellent, running about pressing well then he fell off a cliff. Don't think him playing 90 mins on Saturday helped but at least that will improve his fitness. If he can last 90 mins playing his best stuff the boy will be world class player.

Still can't believe how well suited he looked at that level, city struggled to get the ball off him until he started blowing out of his *.

Really really really really how they can do something about that, honestly believe that was a 3 pointer if he could've handled 90 minutes.

He was * after half an hour last night but tbf the whole team put in an unbelievable shift.

His touch and technique under pressure is exquisite, Zidane-esque tbh at times but he got caught a couple times, needs to learn there's no time on the ball in the CL.

I loved the rush he gave the crowd when, on more than one occasion he collected and spun past Gundogan, or Fernandino, or David Silva, or some other world class multi-million pound player and surged forward :notworthy

Tom Rogic in best ever shape and delighted after signing new deal at Celtic

TOM ROGIC has revealed he's thrilled to have pledged his future to Celtic and insists he's in the best shape of his career.

The Australian midfielder is preparing for his country's World Cup qualifiers in Jeddah against Saudi Arabia and in Melbourne against Japan.

Rogic has been in stunning form this season for the Scottish champions and has been tipped to be the best Aussie player of his generation.

And he reckons that's all down to how happy he is at Parkhead and new boss Brendan Rodgers.

Rogic said: "I’m happy at the club, certainly happy I re-signed for three years. I’m settled not just football wise, but off the pitch.’’

"I think it's the best shape I’ve been in given the amount of games we have and the games don’t stop, it’s a crazy schedule. Celtic will play 60-odd games this season so you have to be ready.

"The way the manager has us playing high intensity and pressing, there’s a lot of hard work that goes into each training session and match.

"When any manager comes in it’s going to take him a bit of time to come to terms with the squad, how he wants to play and who he wants to use.

"Fortunately I’m now in the team, but things can change quickly.

"It’s been really good so far, positive for the whole club and personally I’m feeling that working under Brendan Rodgers I can only get better.’"

And Rogic relished the barnstorming encounter with Manchester City in the Champions League last week.

He stated: "Nights like the other night in the Champions League are why you want to be a footballer and the atmosphere we have at home is hard to describe.

"It was a bit of a crazy game. Exciting to watch for the neutral, the atmosphere was unbelievable, but disappointing we couldn’t get the win after going ahead three times."

Love him. He is the kind of player you want to pay to see. A born entertainer.

Always seems to have a shocker when he comes back from these trips. Mental the amount of travelling he has to do to play for Australia.

A lot of people underestimate jet lag, in my opinion.

Can confirm that the trip takes it out of you.

Takes me days, sometimes over a week, to fix my body clock when I go back home.

Great player. Thought he was excellent against City and Dundee straight after..

Looking forward to him tearing it up in that busy schedule, Gladbach, Huns, Sheep away..

He needs to be rotated with either Commons or Christie, Armstrong coming on to replace him in his position just will not do.

I dunno. Armstrong has been excellent in a #10 position when he's come on.

Such a silky player, and seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Hopefully he continues to improve at the rate he has over the last 12 months.

I'm actually embarrassed over the idea I had that it would be better for Rogic to leave at the start of the season over Scott Allan.

    Jeez.......
